AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16): Had a phenomenal first year with the Irish, breaking the school record in the 500 free and 400 free relay and qualifying as the lone swimmer to compete at NCAA Championships … touched in at 1:47.46 in 200 free at NCAA Championship meet, held at Georgia Tech … at ACC Championship, earned NCAA invitation on strength of 1:45.46 leadoff split with eighth-place 800 free relay team … also swam with 200 free relay (22.85 split) and 400 free relay (50.00 split) that placed eighth and 11th respectively … individually, broke school record with 4:44.29 preliminary time in 500 free, advancing to evening finals where she finished 15th overall (4:46.30) … finished 14th overall in 200 free (1:46.95 finals, 1:47.15 prelims) and touched the wall in 50.32 in 100 free, just shy of qualifying for C final … began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, earning two first place wins with 200 free relay (23.60 split) and 1,500 free relay (5:05.03 split) … also finished second with 300 back relay (58.41 split) and exhibitioned with 800 free relay (1:52.68 split) … at Florida Gulf Coast, came in first twice in 200 free (1:50.19) and 500 free (4:57.06), taking second with 400 free relay (51.59 split) and fourth with 200 medley relay (23.89 split) … against Michigan State, won the 200 free race (1:51.81), took second in 100 free (52.49) an exhibitioned with 200 free relay (24.10 split) … at Purdue the following day, touched in third in 200 free (1:51.61), sixth in 500 free (4:58.20) and fourth with 400 free relay (51.63 split) … at Virginia Tech, came in second four times and fourth once … earned runner-up results in 200 free relay (23.62 split), 800 free relay (1:51.15 leadoff split), 200 free (1:50.89) and 400 free relay (51.13 split), and came in fourth in 500 free (4:58.16) … at Purdue Invitational had hectic weekend, swimming on five relays and in four individual races … as a relay team member, won 200 free relay (23.15 split), touched fifth in 800 free relay (1:51.02 leadoff split), and finished 11th in 400 medley (51.13 split) and 12th in 200 medley (23.67 split) relays … individually, came in sixth in 500 free (4:49.90 finals, 4:50.62 prelims) and 200 free (1:49.08 finals, 1:49.63 prelims), eighth in 100 free (51.39 finals, 51.24 prelims) and 18th in 50 free (23.75 finals, 23.86 prelims) … at Virginia, won on 400 free relay (52.18 split) and took third with 200 free relay (23.74 split), claiming fifth in 500 free (5:01.12), 1,000 free (10:25.01) and 200 free (1:54.21) and seventh in 100 free (52.17) … against Northwestern, touched in first in 200 free (1:50.74) and 500 free (4:58.57), second with 400 free relay (51.94 split) and third with 200 medley relay (23.27 split) … in Shamrock Invitational, earned six victories with 200 free relay, 400 medley relay (50.95 split), 800 free relay (1:51.28 leadoff split) and 400 free relay (49.86 split) in addition to individual wins in 500 free (4:55.07) and 200 free (1:51.35) … came in fifth in 100 free (51.57) and took 16th in 50 free (24.20) … named one of three Monogram Club MVPs at end of year banquet … earned a monogram.

PREP & PERSONAL: Graduated from Arapahoe High School (Colorado) in the spring of 2015 … specialized in the middle-distance freestyle and the individual medley events … earned three letters in swimming … won state championship and earned All-America honors in the 200 free (1:49.77) as a junior … also claimed fourth in the 100 free (51.34) as team claimed fifth place … earned All-America honors after finishing second in the 200 free (1:50.30) and 100 free (51.32) at the state championships as a sophomore … team claimed fourth place … took third in the 100 free (52.36) and 200 free (1:51.82) at the state championships as a freshman, helping squad to place fifth … competed for the ACES Swim Club and the Denver Swim Academy during club season … finished second in the 200-yard free, third in the 500-yard free and fifth in the 1,650-yard free for ACES at the sectional championships … has raced against Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin since elementary school … was president of high school’s National Honor Society … was also a confirmation leader at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and a leader of the LINK Crew (freshman orientation) … was a four-year all `A’ honor roll member … Ella Bolling Moynihan was born in San Francisco, California to Tim and Elizabeth Moynihan … has two younger brothers, William and Michael, and one younger sister, Claire … uncle, Michael Moynihan, graduated from Notre Dame in 1989 … father, Tim Moynihan, played football at Colby College … uncle Tersh Barber, and grandfather, Kent Barber, played lacrosse at Williams College … uncle, Jason Wilson, played tennis at the University of Southern California … enrolled in College of Science, majoring in Science Pre-Professional Studies.
