AS A JUNIOR: Competed for the first time at the Head of the Charles Regatta, rowing with the second Notre Dame championship eight entry to a 27th place finish in 17:57.501 … rowed with the Irish second varsity four and eight during spring slate … second varsity eight posted three runner-up finishes to open the spring season at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational … claimed a second place result against No. 1 Ohio State (6:38.48) to begin the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual … rebounded in the afternoon with a race victory against No. RV Michigan State (6:36.29) to close the regatta … second varsity eight defeated both San Diego and Gonzaga for a heat win (6:47.00) in the final racing session of the Lake Natoma Invitational … transitioned to the second varsity four and clocked a winning time of 8:00.40 on the opening night of the Dale England Cup … finished in third place during grand final racing in the second varsity four (7:32.00) at the 2015 ACC Championship.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Rowed with the Notre Dame first varsity four during sophomore season … crew finished first at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational with a time of 7:22.100 to defeat Louisville and West Virginia … placed a mere five seconds behind Virginia with a 7:28.333 mark later in the regatta … took the top spot in the final race of the weekend with a 7:31.70 sprint in Sunday’s race session against ACC foe Duke … the first four won one out of three races at the Lake Natoma Invitational, finishing as the runner-up in its other two heats … earned a pair of runner-up finishes behind eventual NCAA champion Ohio State and Michigan during Notre Dame’s first appearance at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge … crew was victorious in two out of three races at the Dale England Cup, defeating Alabama and Rhode Island in heat wins … rowed to a first place finish in heat two at the ACC Championship (7:46.70) before falling to Virginia in the ACC grand final of the varsity four with a time of 7:30.00 … qualified for the petite final at the NCAA Championship by placing fifth in the A/B semifinal with a time 6:54.600 … logged a matching fifth place result in the petite final with a readout of 8:07.649, finishing the season as the 12th ranked four boat in the nation.
AS A FRESHMAN: Raced with the first novice eight boat throughout the season … at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, finished second in the first race behind Kansas with a time of 7:21.974 … came in third in the second race after logging a 7:16.70 clip … in Sunday session, finished first in two races … raced with the A-team at Michigan State and clinched first place with a time of 7:26.00 … concluded the day with a 7:44.90 win over host Michigan State … came in second to Michigan in two races at the Ohio State Invitational … competed with the A-team at the fifth annual Dale England Cup and claimed first in two races before falling to second in the event’s final race … host Indiana beat both Irish boat entries, pulling ahead of the A-team by five seconds … competed with the third varsity eight boat at the BIG EAST Championship, winning the grand final race in 7:18.864.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Graduated from the Hockaday School in May 2012 … ran cross country and track, and was a member of the Dallas Rowing Club team and Hockaday School Crew team … captained the school team her junior and senior years … rowed in the quad her sophomore through senior years, picking up the double in her last two seasons … grandfather was the founder of the Houston Rowing Club … was a member of FIDES, the Texas Club and Right to Life … is the daughter of Tom and Janet Horton … has one brother, Zach … enrolled in the College of Engineering as a civil engineering major.
