AS A SENIOR: Won his first BIG EAST title from the 1-meter distance in his final campaign with a total of 355.70 en route to being named BIG EAST Diver of the Year … broke the Notre Dame 3-meter record with his 405.15 performance at the Shamrock Invitational … took home fourth place from the 3-meter board at the BIG EAST Championships with a total of 338.10 points … set a season-best mark of 360.75 points from the 1-meter distance against Northwestern … leaves Notre Dame with four of the top seven performances in school hisotry from the 1-meter height … finished in ninth place at the NCAA Zone Championships with 698.30 points.
AS A JUNIOR:Dove to season best totals of 369.15 in the 3-meter event and 313.27 in the 1-meter event against Oakland … the 3-meter total was also a personal best … placed 15th in the 1-meter dive and 16th in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Earned an all-BIG EAST honor with a season-best 362.10 off the 3-meter for a third-place finish … top dual meet score in that event was a 359.47 posted against Oakland … scored 352.45 points off the 1- meter for a season-best mark at the Shamrock Invite … best mark in that event at the BIG EAST meet was 323.25 … finished 11th at the NCAA Zone Championships in the 1-meter (603.05) and 17th in the 3-meter (632.90) … College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All- Academic Honorable Mention.
AS A FRESHMAN: Tacked an all-conference honor to his name after his first appearance at the BIG EAST Championships … finished third to score 16 points in the 1-meter event (326.55) at the league meet … it was his second-best diving effort of the season after his showing at the Shamrock Invitational (334.27) … finished ninth off the 3-meter at the BIG EAST meet with a 286.60 … top 3-meter mark was set during a home meet with Louisville (335.40) followed by a 334.50 at the Shamrock Invitational.
THE LEX FILE: Attained All-America and all- state nods throughout his four years as a prep at Upper Arlington (Ohio) … placed fourth in the state meet his junior year … qualified for seven consecutive East/West National Championships and four U.S. Summer National Competitions … team MVP and team captain his sophomore and senior seasons … biggest athletic thrill to date was earning a second-place finish at the AAU Nationals in 2007 … son of Lisa and Stephen Lex … born March 6, 1989 in Flagstaff, Ariz. … enjoys whitewater kayaking … stayed on campus during the summer of 2008 to train with Irish diving coach Caiming Xie … graduated from the Mendoza College of Business as a finance major.
