AS A JUNIOR (2025-26)

• Laced up for all 37 games for the Irish.
• Registered a new career-high in points with 13.
• Tied his best in goals from the previous year with three.
• Recorded 10 assists, doubling his tally from the previous season.
• Set a career-long three game point streak (Jan. 23 – Jan. 30; 1-2-3).
• Blocked 37 shots on the year.
• Recorded his first power-play goal of his career.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2024-25)

• Played in 30 games for the Irish. 
• Scored his first career goal against Alaska (Oct. 18). 
• After posting just one point as a rookie, Nelson finished his sophomore season with eight points off three goals and five assists.
• Finished third on the team for blocked shots with 40.
• Recorded one game-winning goal on the season with his first collegiate goal against Alaska. 
• Also tallied an assist in the Alaska game to post his first career multi-point night.
• Assisted on two goals in the 6-1 win over Wisconsin (Feb. 22) for his first multi-assist game.

AS A FRESHMAN (2023-2024)

• Skated in 31 of 36 games for the Irish in his freshman season. 
• Blocked 15 shots on the season. 
• Recorded his first collegiate point with an assist in the 5-2 road victory at Ohio State (Jan. 13).

IN THE USHL

• Spent three seasons with Lincoln Stars, appearing in 102 games
• Recorded five goals and 22 assists with the Stars
• In final season with the Stars, recorded a plus-five on ice rating

PREP & PERSONAL

• Native of Maple Grove, Minnesota
• Graduated from Maple Grove High School in 2021
• Won state golf championship at Maple Grove
• Son of Barb and Victor Nelson
• Has two siblings, Danny and Sammy, both of which play hockey at Notre Dame
