AS A JUNIOR: Played in all 19 games, making 18 starts β¦ recorded 24 ground balls, seven draw controls and 13 caused turnovers β¦ helped the Irish to a 9.72 team goals-against average and a 15-4 overall record β¦ was ninth on the team in ground balls β¦ picked up ground balls in 15 of team[apos]s 19 games β¦ had six games with two or more ground balls β¦ recorded a season-high three ground balls versus Stanford, Cornell and Georgetown β¦ had a career-best two draw controls at Stanford β¦ tied for eighth on team in caused turnovers β¦ had two games with two caused turnovers versus Connecticut and Cornell β¦ had one shot on goal in the game against James Madison.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Played all 15 games, starting 10 of them β¦ recorded 17 ground balls, caused eight turnovers and had four draw controls β¦ had six games with two or more ground balls β¦ turned in a career-best three ground balls in loss at James Madison β¦ closed the season with a strong game versus Ohio State, getting two ground balls and a career-high four caused turnovers.
AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in four games during her rookie year, playing versus Virginia Tech, Boston College, at Ohio State and at Northwestern in the NCAA tournament β¦ caused turnovers versus Virginia Tech and Ohio State.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Three-sport standout at Radnor High School β¦ four-time letter winner in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse β¦ helped Radnor to Central Athletic League crown as a senior β¦ team captain and two-time most valuable player in field hockey β¦ was team captain of the basketball team as a senior β¦ in lacrosse, was a member of three Pennsylvania State championship teams (2000, 2001 and 2003) β¦ team was nationally ranked in all four seasons β¦ served as team captain as a senior β¦ was all-conference and All-America in her final season β¦ selected high school Academic All-American in 2002 and 2003 β¦ was a Central League all-star selection in all three sports β¦ selected Main Line Times female athlete of the year in 2003 β¦ full name is Kristin Frances Hopson β¦ daughter of George and Frances Hopson β¦ has two brothers and one sister β¦ brother, Michael, played football at the University of Maryland β¦ born Sept. 10, 1984, in Bryn Mawr, Pa. β¦ double major in sociology and psychology in the College of Arts and Letters.
