AS A JUNIOR (2017-18):
• Recipient of the Golden Dumbbell Award, awarded to a swimmer or diver who demonstrates consistent effort, improvement, and enthusiasm for the weight room for the betterment of themselves and their teammates.
• Competed as part of the Irish 800 freestyle relay entry at the ACC Championships.
• Matched a career-best finish at the ACC Championships in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:55.33 to place 14th.
• Runner-up in the 100 freestyle with a time of :51.00 against Ball State and Green Bay.
• Touched the wall with a time of 1:58.71 in the 200 backstroke to take third place during the Shamrock Invitational.
• Took second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:59.92, adding a third-place result in 1:49.97 against No. 25 Florida State.
• Placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.24 against Illinois and Iowa.
• Fourth place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.71 in a sweep of No. 9 Indiana and Cincinnati.
• Runner-up in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.99 and the third-place finisher with a time of 2:06.67 in the 200 IM against No. 16 Purdue.
• Was second to the wall with a time of 2:01.67 in the 200 backstroke in dual competition against Georgia Tech.
• Placed fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.64 against No. 5 Texas A&M and Michigan State.
• Finished third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.41 in a Notre Dame upset victory against No. 9 Louisville.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17):
• Made ACC Championships debut, earning a top finish of 14th place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.01.
• Winner in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:02.17, adding a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of :58.02 against Indiana State and IUPUI.
• Touched the wall in third place with a time of 2:01.07 in an ACC dual against Louisville.
• Posted fourth-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:51.24) and the 200 backstroke (2:02.97) against Northwestern.
• Placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.74 against Iowa and Illinois.
• Checked in third in the 200 backstroke (1:58.67) and the 200 IM (2:03.84), and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:50.41) against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.
• Runner-up in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.27, adding a 200 freestyle finish of fourth after clocking a 1:50.13 against Miami (Fla.), Purdue and Rutgers.
• Finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:59.76, and turned in an effort of 2:05.29 for third place in the 200 IM against ACC foe Georgia Tech.
• Third-place finisher in the 100 backstroke with a time of :57.08 against Indiana State and Oakland.
AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16):
• Had breakout first year under the Dome, making the ACC Championships travel roster and establishing herself as a versatile freestyler/backstroker on the team.
• At ACC meet, finished in eighth place with 800 freestyle relay (1:46.63 split) and swam to 12th in 200 IM (1:59.64 finals, 2:01.17 prelims), 17th in 200 freestyle (1:47.08 finals, 1:47.95 prelims) and 13th in 200 backstroke (1:56.82 finals, 1:56.63 prelims).
• Began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, winning with the 800 freestyle relay (1:54.59 leadoff split) and 400 freestyle relay (:53.31 split).
• Took second with 300 backstroke team (:57.92 leadoff split) and sixth with 200 medley relay (:24.82 split).
• At Florida Gulf Coast, earned two third-place finishes in 200 freestyle (1:51.99) and 200 backstroke (2:03.40), claiming fifth with 400 freestyle relay (:53.86 split).
• Against Michigan State, came in second in 200 freestyle (1:53.99) and third in 200 backstroke (2:04.07), exhibitioning on 200 freestyle relay (:24.80 split).
• The next day at Purdue, finished eighth in 200 freestyle (1:53.99) and 200 backstroke (2:03.98) and was sixth on 400 freestyle relay (:53.83 split).
• At Virginia Tech, placed second with 800 freestyle relay (1:52.90 split), third in 200 IM (2:06.58), fourth in 100 backstroke (:56.77) and 200 backstroke (2:02.01) and seventh with 200 freestyle relay (:24.31 split).
• At Purdue Invitational, swam on four relays and in four individual races throughout the course of the weekend.
• Claimed fifth place with 800 freestyle relay (1:53.06 split), 13th on 200 freestyle (:23.97 split) and 200 medley (:27.07 leadoff split) relays and 20th with 400 freestyle lineup (:52.93 leadoff split).
• Individually, finished seventh in 200 IM (2:03.82 finals, 2:04.11 prelims), 15th in 200 freestyle (1:52.59 finals, 1:51.66 prelims), 13th in 200 backstroke (2:00.86 finals, 2:01.33 prelims) and 22nd in 100 backstroke (:57.16 finals, :57.02 prelims).
• At Virginia, earned a pair of fourth-place finishes in 100 backstroke (:57.19) and 200 backstroke (2:00.90).
• Also came in fifth in 200 IM (2:07.47), sixth with 200 medley relay (:27.35 leadoff) and seventh with 400 medley relay (:58.02 leadoff).
• Versus Northwestern, was runner-up in 200 freestyle (1:50.76) and 200 backstroke (2:00.36), third with 200 medley relay (:27.11 leadoff split) and sixth in 200 IM (2:07.92).
• In Shamrock Invitational, took first with 800 freestyle relay (1:52.19 split), second in 200 freestyle (1:52.65), third in 200 IM (2:05.06), fourth in 200 backstroke (2:01.77), fifth in 400 freestyle relay (:52.69 split), sixth in 100 backstroke (:57.20) and 200 medley relay (:26.79 leadoff split) and seventh in 400 medley relay (:58.17 leadoff split).
• Honored as women’s team’s Beeler-Hipp Award recipient at end of year banquet.
PREP & PERSONAL:
• Graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Hampshire in the spring of 2015.
• Earned three letters in swimming.
• Specialized in the backstroke and freestyle events.
• Qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials in the 200 backstroke when she was 15 years old, placing 90th.
• Swam at Junior Nationals in the summer of 2015.
• Best short course times include :55.04 in the 100 backstroke, 1:57.85 in the 200 backstroke, :24.03 in the 50 freestyle, :51.74 in the 100 freestyle, 1:49.89 in the 200 freestyle and 2:01.81 in the 200 IM.
• Best long course times include 1:03.11 in the 100 backstroke, 2:15.63 in the 200 backstroke, :26.60 in the 50 freestyle, :57.82 in the 100 freestyle, 2:05.87 in the 200 freestyle and 2:21.81 in the 200 IM.
• Two-time New Hampshire state champion in the 200 IM (Fr., Jr.).
• State runner-up in the 100 backstroke as a freshman before winning state title in the same event as a junior.
• Set the New Hampshire state record in the 100 backstroke (:55.47) and 200 IM (2:03.71) as a junior while also earning All-America accolades in the 100 backstroke.
• Helped team win state championship as a freshman.
• Competed for Seacoast Swimming Association club team.
• Was a junior national finalist in 200 back.

• Kyra Marie Sarazen was born in New London, Connecticut to David and Cathy Sarazen.
• Has an older sister, Jillian, and a younger sister, Mackenna.
• Sister, Jillian, swam at Oberlin College in Ohio.
• Enrolled in the College of Science, majoring in neuroscience and behavior.
