Patrick Augustyn 2007-08 Swimming and Diving Roster

AS A FRESHMAN:Had three season-best performances at the BIG EAST Championships … finished fifth overall in the 200 Fly (1:48.00) and drove home a ninth-place showing in the 100 Fly (49.63) … also competed in the 200 IM and produced a personal best 1:54.75 at the league meet … each of those swims ranked him among the team[apos]s top four performers on the season … swam the 50 Free at the Ohio State Invitational (21.94) and Shamrock Invitational (22.72) … his previous best in the 100 Fly (50.81) came during the Ohio State Invitational, as did his 200 Fly (1:50.05) mark … named the team[apos]s most improved swimmer.

THE AUGUSTYN FILE:Entered Notre Dame[apos]s swimming program with a best time less than two seconds shy of matching the school[apos]s 200 Fly record … four-time All-American and two-time state runner-up in the 100 Fly … represented the Munster Swim Club in the 200-meter Fly (2:10.93) at the 2007 Long Course National Championships … swam for four seasons at Highland (Ind.) … currently holds high school team records in the 100 (50.19) and 200 Fly (1:49.33) … named high school team MVP three times … club involvement included membership in the National Honor Society and student government … son of Linda and George Augustyn … brother, Mark, swims for Ball State … born July 11, 1988 in Munster, Ind. … made the dean[apos]s list after posting a 3.733 grade point average in spring 2008 … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as an accountancy major.
