• Three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll (2016, 2017, 2018)

SENIOR SEASON (2019):

• Got drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 31st round with the 942nd pick
• Set a career high across multiple categories in his final season with the Irish including appearances (15), innings (16.1), and strikeouts (19).
• Recorded his first career win in the ACC-opening win over Wake Forest (3/9)
• Tossed a career-high two innings three times against Central Michigan (4/2), Western Michigan (4/10) and No. 7 Louisville (5/3)
• Tallied a career high three strikeouts in the home win over Valparaiso (4/23)

JUNIOR SEASON (2018):

• Appeared in four games in the 2018 season

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2017):

• Made one appearance while continuing rehabilitation from surgery
• Struck out the only two batters he faced in a win over Northern Illinois

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016):

• Did not see action during the 2016 campaign following successful right elbow surgery in July 2015

HIGH SCHOOL:

• Earned two varsity letters each in baseball and football at St. John’s
• Rated the second-best right-handed pitcher in Massachusetts and No. 5 prospect overall in the commonwealth by Perfect Game
• Named honorable mention Preseason Senior High School All-America by Perfect Game, as well Preseason Northeast Region All-High School Senior
• Went 1-1 with a save and 34 strikeouts over 18 innings before senior campaign ended early with a leg injury
• Won Gary McNulty Memorial Award as high school’s best multi-sport athlete
• Named honorable mention Preseason High School Underclassman All-America prior to junior season
• Went 4-1 with 1.36 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 36 innings as a junior
• Threw a pair of no-hitters during junior season, earning ESPN Boston all-state honors
• On the gridiron, rank for 1,514 yards for 18 touchdowns as a senior and 1,243 yards and 16 scores as a junior

PERSONAL:

• Born in Philadelphia
• Son of Arthur Combs
• Has two sisters, Sienna and Cinthia
• Had three family members compete in athletics at Notre Dame, including sister, Sienna (‘15 club rugby), father, Arthur (‘72 baseball) and uncle, David (‘80 men’s soccer)
• Enrolled in the College of Engineering as an aerospace engineering major
