Outside Hitter
As a Senior (2010): One of the most reliable players from behind the stripe for the Irish, finishing with three aces in her final campaign … totaled six kills, six digs and three assists with a block on the season … stepped in to serve during a 3-1 win over Marshall (Aug. 28) … had one swing and one block assist at Denver (Sept. 12) … played in a pair of sets in a 3-0 home win over Pittsburgh (Sept. 26) … first kill of the season came against Syracuse (Oct. 23) … one assist and one dig against Marquette (Oct. 24) … had a career day during a home win over Connecticut (Oct. 31) with four kills, two assists, two digs and an ace.
As a Junior (2009): Punched in number of clutch aces throughout the season off the stroke of a tremendous float serve … tossed up 203 serves with 12 aces … four of those aces came against New Mexico State (Sept. 13) … recorded at least one ace in eight different affairs … completed 10 matches with a service error … totaled 16 digs with four multi-dig efforts to aid the Irish defense … twice aced Connecticut (Sept. 25) to open the BIG EAST portion of the schedule … saw action in each of the frames played against Louisville (Nov. 21), Florida (Nov. 28) and Ohio (Dec. 4) to close the season … played in 76 sets.
As a Sophomore (2008): Increased her playing time by appearing in 33 sets and 15 matches for the Irish … served 77 times with five aces … three digs and 5.0 points on the year … served at a .844 rate and did not fault through her first six matches … recorded an assist against Syracuse (Nov. 1) … took a pair of swings versus Marquette (Nov. 2) … mustered a season-high two digs during a 3-0 sweep over Rutgers (Nov. 9) … back-to-back aces came against Rutgers and St. John[apos]s (Nov. 14) … produced two aces on 10 serve attempts versus Connecticut (Nov. 21) in the BIG EAST Championship … aced Louisville (Nov. 1) once on 16 attempts in the tournament[apos]s final match … played in three sets versus Xavier (Nov. 28) in the season finale.
As a Freshman (2007): Played at the middle blocker and outside hitter positions … appeared in 11 sets and eight matches … notched two kills, one assist, three digs and one block assist … totaled three matches with a perfect serving percentage … launched eight serves on the season, with three of those falling at West Virginia (Sept. 23) … made her collegiate debut at No. 22 Santa Clara (Sept. 16), coming through with one swing in her lone set played … received three serves against Seton Hall (Sept. 29), also logging an assist and one dig in the home match with the Pirates … assisted on a block against Rutgers (Oct. 6) … converted her first kill against DePaul (Oct. 19) while tacking on a second against Georgetown (Nov. 2) … closed out the year by seeing action in a pair of sets at Tennessee (Nov. 23), recording one dig against the Lady Vols.
The Slatt File: The first freshman since 1984 to play varsity volleyball at John F. Kennedy (Wash.), and crack the starting lineup in every match of her prep career … first team all-state selection in 2006 and 2007 … made the second team as a sophomore in 2005 … Seamount League MVP in 2005, 2006 and 2007 … three-time member of the all-Seamount League team, earning an honorable mention nod in 2004 … team MVP in 2005, 2006 and 2007 … led prep squad to a second-place finish in the 2007 Washington high school state tournament while claiming a district title in 2006 … won Seamount League titles in 2004, 2006 and 2007 … King County Journal Player of the Year in 2007, and King County Journal All-Area All Star in 2005, 2006 and 2007 … two-time member of the Seattle Post Intelligencer All Star Team … voted to Seattle Times All-Star Team in 2007 … team captain for Club Wahine from 2003-2004 and led the squad to the Junior Olympics Nationals in 2004 … member of Puget Sound for three years, serving as team captain in 2007 … made appearances in the 2005 and 2006 Junior Olympic Nationals while earning a pair of regional titles in those same years … earned four letters in volleyball and three in track and field … placed ninth in the 2006 state track meet and 10th in the 2005 edition as a high jumper … member of school[apos]s Spanish Honors Society and Amnesty International club … daughter of Jeanine and Christopher Slatt … father graduated from Notre Dame in 1980 and sister, Danielle, graduated in 2008 … relatives Charles Slatt ([apos]33), Vincent Slatt ([apos]43), Stephen Slatt ([apos]72), Christopher Slatt ([apos]80), Philip Slatt ([apos]86), Mary Irene Slatt ([apos]98) and Vincent E.
