  • Finished sixth on Notre Dame’s all-time rushing chart with 2,274 yards following stellar senior campaign in 1991.
  • Ranked as veteran of Notre Dame tailback cast for 1991.
  • Shared that position throughout majority of ’91 season with converted fullback Rodney Culver.
  • Joined Culver to give Irish a pair of career 1,500-yard rushers.
  • Part of solid tailback contingent that also included Reggie Brooks, Tony’s younger brother, and rookie Lee Becton.
  • A fourth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles as 92nd overall selection in 1992 National Football League Draft.

AS A SENIOR (1991)

  • An honorable mention All-America pick by Football News.
  • Ranked as second-leading Irish rusher in ’91 with 894 yards, the 12th best single-season total in Notre Dame.

AS A JUNIOR (1990)

  • Played in every game but Air Force contest in ’90, earning starting nods at tailback vs. Purdue, Stanford, Miami, Pittsburgh and Navy and at fullback vs. Colorado in ’91 Orange Bowl.
  • Split time with classmate Ricky Watters at tailback spot throughout season. Finished as fourth-leading Irish rusher, with 451 yards.

AS A SOPHOMORE (1988)

  • Finished as second leading Irish rusher in ’88 with 667 yards and spectacular 5.7-yard average per carry.
  • His 117 carries ranked only four behind leader Tony Rice.
  • Took over rushing lead after third game of campaign and held it until Rice passed him in final game vs. USC .
  • Led Irish in rushing on four occasions, with 11 carries for 110 yards vs. Purdue, 17 for 105 vs. Pittsburgh, 13 for 56 vs. Miami and 12 for 85 vs. Air Force.
  • Attended Holy Cross Junior College in South Bend during ’89 fall and ’90 spring semesters, then reenrolled at Notre Dame for’90 summer session.

AS A FRESHMAN (1987)

  • Ranked fifth on team in rushing in ’87, while playing more minutes than any other freshman on offense other than tailback Ricky Watters and tight end Frank Jacobs.
  • Made 103 special team appearances, more than any other running back.
  • Played in all 12 games.
