Rosters Set For Annual Blue-Gold Baseball Series

Oct. 10, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Rosters have been set for the 2013 version of the University of Notre Dame baseball fall Blue-Gold Series, which is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at Frank Eck Stadium. A Saturday doubleheader that features two seven-inning games gets underway at 3 p.m., with Sunday’s solo contest slated to begin at 12 p.m. A free 90-minute clinic for all children ages 6-12 will be held on the field at the conclusion of Sunday’s game.

The series is an important aspect of the program for head coach, Mik Aoki, who let David Hearne and Zak Kutsulis serve as captains and pick their sides for the 2013 version.

“I think the Blue-Gold Series will be a good way to wrap up a really competitive fall,” said Aoki. “We try to have a little fun with it. We let a couple of the guys draft and manage the teams and then we as coaches will just step back and observe and let them call the pitches and the plays. They can have a little fun, and I think hopefully it will be a really nice way to end the fall.”

All three games are free and open to the public and will be played out to its completion, weather permitting, regardless of outcome.
