The University of Notre Dame rowing team finished fourth in the team standings at the 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Rowing Championships at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina.
The team effort was highlighted by a second-place finish by the Second Varsity Four in the Grand Final (7:16.483) and third-place finishes by the Second Varsity Eight (6:35.608) and Varsity Four (7:15.875).
Senior Treasa O’Tighearnaigh was named to the All-ACC first team, adding to her second-team selection from a year ago. Senior Christine Schindele-Murayama also earned all-league honors by being selected for the All-ACC second team.
Virginia won all five Grand Final races to claim the program’s ninth consecutive ACC Championship and the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. Notre Dame, ranked 17th in the most recent Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/U.S. Rowing Top 20, hopes to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA regatta. The field will be announced Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 5 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
