SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After a 3-0-0 start to his Irish career, including the nation’s best save percentage, junior netminder Owen Say has been named Co-Goaltender of the Month by the Hockey Commissioners Association, announced Friday.
A London, Ontario native, and newcomer to the Irish in 2024-25, Say boasts a .969 save percentage through his first three games, backstopping the Irish to a trio of 4-1 victories in the opening month of competition.
Stopping 95 of 98 shots faced in his first 180 minutes in the Irish crease, his 1.00 goals against average sits atop the nation and his nation’s-best save percentage is just one-half of the third-ranked goalie tandem in college hockey, alongside Nicholas Kempf.
Say has allowed just one goal against in his first three starts and led the Irish to an undefeated Friday night slate in October.
A transfer to Notre Dame from Mercyhurst, Say now owns a career save percentage of .914 through 45 games played.
