SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Irish netminder Owen Say has been tabbed to the Mike Richter Award Watch List, presented annually to the top NCAA Division 1 Men’s Ice Hockey goaltender.
In his first season with the Irish, the junior from London, Ontario, currently boasts a .920 save percentage and owns a 6-8-0 record between the pipes. In his most recent appearance in goal, Say backstopped the Irish to a 7-4 victory over then-No. 9/9 Michigan inside Compton Family Ice Arena.
Say was previously named Goaltender of the Month by the Hockey Commissioners Association following his performance in goal for the opening month of competition.
He joins a long list of Irish netminders to be recognized on previous watch lists, including recent graduate Ryan Bischel, 2017 finalist Cal Petersen and 2018 finalist Cale Morris.
