Season Concludes In Second Round Of ACC Championships

CARY, N.C. – The Notre Dame men’s tennis team 20224-2025 season came to an end last night at the hands of #19 ranked Duke. The second round ACC tournament match ended under the lights in Cary, North Carolina with the Irish falling 4-1.

Duke took the early lead claiming the doubles point with wins at the #1 and #2 positions. Sebastian Dominko and Chase Thompson fell to the team ranked one spot ahead of them after surrounding just one break of serve. Peter Nad and Luis Llorens were leading their #3 match when play was suspended. The freshman pair finished their first year with a perfect 12-0 record as a duo with 10 of those wins being against ACC opponents.

In singles, Peter Nad gave the Irish their lone point of the night with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory at the number 5 position. The freshman raced out to a 5-0 lead and crushed in his match that lasted only an hour before his victory.

Dominko and Yu Zhang fell at the top two spots in the lineup to a pair of ranked Blue Devils. Kyran Magimay was the final match to finish of the season as he dropped a matching pair of 6-4 sets. Jamie Corsillo and Chase Thompson were in the middle of their second sets when play was stopped.
