SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame softball team (19-27, 8-13 ACC) returns to Melissa Cook Stadium for a seven-game homestand to complete the regular season, starting Tuesday against Central Michigan and Wednesday versus Michigan State. Both games will start at 5:00 p.m. ET and be broadcast on ACCNX. Admission is free to all regular season Irish softball games.

The Irish have had plenty of success historically against both Central Michigan and Michigan State. Notre Dame is 6-2 all-time against the Chippewas and 3-0 in South Bend, including last April’s 8-4 win. Against the Spartans, the Irish are 13-1 all-time and 6-0 at home. Notre Dame has won the past eight matchups against Michigan State, with the last loss coming in 1995. The Irish edged out a 4-3 win last season up in East Lansing.

Notre Dame is coming off a series victory this past weekend against Syracuse, winning the first two games. The Irish climbed multiple spots in the ACC Standings and are now 10th in the conference with their eight ACC wins.

The freshman trio of Lily Hagan, Hayden Kyne and Ava Zachary continue to excel in their first collegiate seasons. Hagan leads the team with six home runs this year in just 44 at bats. Kyne, who hit a homer Sunday against Syracuse, is hitting .337 on the year with four homers and 23 RBI. She stole her first career base over the weekend. Zachary has been Notre Dame’s best player offensively, leading the team in multiple categories (batting average, doubles, home extra base hits, RBI, slugging, on base, sacrifice hits).

Tuesday and Wednesday mark the first two games of a seven-game, nine-day stretch of Irish softball at Melissa Cook Stadium. This weekend marks the final ACC series against Boston College, with Senior Day being Saturday, before closing out the regular season next week with a pair of midweek games.
