SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have seven women’s lacrosse alumni on Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL) teams as the pro league kicks off its inaugural season this Saturday, May 16.
The WLL consists of four teams with former Irish players represented on three of the four teams (Boston Guard, Maryland Charm, California Palms), along with Notre Dame assistant coach Mckenna Davis on the New York Charging.

- Madison Ahern (‘24) – Boston Guard
- Kasey Choma (‘24) – Boston Guard
- Hannah Dorney (‘23) – Boston Guard
- Jackie Wolak (‘24) – California Palms
- Grace Weigand (‘25) – California Palms
- Kelly Denes (‘24) – Maryland Charm
- Mckenna Davis (ND assistant coach) – New York Charging
The WLL 2026 season will feature the league’s original teams competing in the 10-versus-10 game format successfully debuted at its 2025 WLL All-Star Game. Each team will make their home debuts in their team’s market with three neutral markets also hosting WLL games – Rhode Island, Chicago, and Fairfield, Conn.
Prior to the inaugural season starting, there had been two Championship Series. New York Charging took home the 2026 Championship Series and the Boston Guard won the first-ever Championship Series in 2025, with Aldave, Ahern, Choma, Dorney, and Wolak on the Guard’s roster at the time to help secure the title.
The Charging and the Guard will now face off in the first-ever WLL regular season game this Saturday night at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I.
The following week on Friday, May 29, the Charm and the Palms will open up their season at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md.
