Silianoff Signs Contract With Steelheads

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Following a five-year career with the Irish, former Notre Dame hockey forward Grant Silianoff will continue his hockey career at the next level, having signed his first professional contract with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL on Tuesday.

“I’d like to thank Notre Dame for the past five years, it was truly an honor,” Silianoff said upon signing. “I am ecstatic to have signed my first professional contract with the Idaho Steelheads and look forward to joining a great organization and culture. I cannot wait to get to Boise and get the year going.”

After joining the Irish in 2020, Silianoff went on to skate in 159 collegiate contests with the Gold and Blue and amassed 54 points behind 21 goals and 33 assists. Most recently, the Edina, Minnesota, native tied a career best goal total with five tallies in his final season with Notre Dame. His final collegiate goal came in his home state of Minnesota to help the Irish clinch a 4-1 victory and series win. The game-winning goal lifted the Irish to the 2-1 record in the best-of-three series against the top-seeded Golden Gophers to advance to the Big Ten Quarterfinals at Michigan State.

Silianoff is set to make his professional debut with the Steelheads this fall and joins former Irish teammate Jake Boltmann in Idaho.
