SPARKS, Md. — Six Notre Dame men’s lacrosse players have earned All-America status as announced by USA Lacrosse on Thursday. The Irish had two placed on the first team, one on the second team and three honorable mention.
The defensive tandem of Shawn Lyght (defenseman) and Will Donovan (LSM) were first team selections while Thomas Ricciardelli (goalie) earned second team honors. Josh Yago (attackman), Will Maheras (midfielder) and Matt Jeffery (midfielder) were each named honorable mention.
Lyght and Donovan have each been selected to the first team in back-to-back seasons by USA Lacrosse and Yago has been honorable mention for each of the last two seasons as well.
The Fighting Irish earned the No. 2 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and will welcome Jacksonville to Arlotta Stadium for a first round matchup at noon ET on Sunday, May 10. Tickets to the game can be purchased here and it will be broadcast on ESPNU.
