Softball Inks Talented Group on National Signing Day

Incoming class is ranked 33rd in the country by D1 Softball and 36th by Softball America

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame softball team has added six student-athletes who have signed an Athletic Aid Agreement and will join the program for the 2027 season, head coach Kris Ganeff announced today.

The class, which is ranked the 33rd-best in the country by D1 Softball and 36th by Softball America, features players from California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Texas. The talented group consists of All-State players, MVPs, district champions and highly touted recruiting rankings.

Emmi Bowman • OF • Apopka, FL (Mount Dora HS) • Intensity BOD

Has a career .423 batting average, notching 93 runs, 59 RBI, 20 doubles, five home runs and four triples. Has also swiped 38 stolen bases while serving as a two-time team captain. Line Drive ranks her as the 31st-best outfielder in the nation. Ranked as the 56th outfielder in the nation and the #16 outfielder in the southeast by Extra Innings Softball. Four-sport athlete in high school (softball, soccer, volleyball and weightlifting).

Ganeff on Bowman – Emmi is a steady and level headed player who plays the game with determination and grit.  She has a patience and demeanor that can calm any situation.  Emmi has ice in her veins.  We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”

Zoey Clark • INF • Jamison, PA (Germantown Academy) • Indiana Magic Gold

Ranked a four-star recruit and the 67th-best player in the country and the 28th-best infielder by Softball America (On3). Hit .538 in 2025 with a .607 OBP. Tallied 28 hits during her junior season, 15 of them going for extra bases. Clubbed seven home runs and 16 RBI while also scoring 25 runs in 2025. Only struck out once at the plate in 61 plate appearances. 

Ganeff on Clark – “Zoey is one of the most dynamic players coming out of the 2026 class.  She possesses a powerful bat and can change the game with one swing.  We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”

Morgan Fitzpatrick • INF • Long Beach, California (Los Alamitos HS) • BSC Bengal Briggs

Ranked a four-star recruit and the 57th-best player in the country and 24th-best infielder by Softball America (On3). Ranked in the Top-100 by both Line Drive Media and Extra Inning Softball. She was named to the All-Sunset League in 2024 and is a three-time league champion. Mom, Candance, played softball at San Diego State and Dad, Luke, played baseball at Long Beach State and was a minor leaguer for the Chicago White Sox.

Ganeff on Fitzpatrick – Morgan comes from a family with high softball and baseball IQ.  She is a solid player who gets in and gets her job done.  She is athletic and will bring a steadiness to our team.   We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”

Cassidy Jagielski • INF • Frankfort, IL (Lincoln Way East HS) • New Lenox Lightning Gold Abott

2024 IHSA 4A All-State selection as a sophomore and first-team. Three-time conference and regional champion (2023, 2024, 2025) in high school. Beverly Bandits Freeland champion and PGF Premier Nationals top finisher with club team. Mom, Liz, was a Conference USA Softball Player of the Year and All-American at DePaul and now is the head softball coach for the Blue Demons. 

Ganeff on Jagielski – Cassidy was born to play Division I softball.  Her Mom was one of my favorite players for DePaul back in the day and today is the Head Coach at DePaul.  I have wanted Cassidy to Be Irish for a long time.  She is a competitive and gritty player on the field and has the ability to change the game with her energy and skill.   We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”

Finley Montgomery • P • Denton, Texas (Guyer HS) • Indiana Magic Gold

Accolades include: Two-time 6A All-State selection, Dallas Morning News Pitcher of the Year, District MVP, Newcomer of the Year, All-Area Pitcher of the Year, three-time All-District.

Ganeff on Montgomery – Finley is a pitcher who commands the zone with her velocity and movement.  She is a competitive player who is determined to be successful.  Finley has the capability to hit the ball out of the park on the offensive side of the game.   We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”

Haley Spitale • INF • St. Joseph, MI (St. Joseph HS) • Indiana Magic Gold

2025 First Team All-State shortstop, three-time All-Conference, three-time All-District, three-time All-Region. Served as captain. Mom, Jamie, has been on Notre Dame’s coaching staff since 2014 and is currently the Director of Player Personnel and Operations for Notre Dame Softball.

Ganeff on Spitale – I am so excited that Haley is becoming Irish.  I have known her since she was a baby and I can’t even express what it has been like to see her achieve her dream.  She is a high energy and steady player.  She has continued to make her game better every time she steps on the field.  We are so excited for her to Be Irish.”
