AT NOTRE DAME: Two-year monogram winner enters his senior season with a .280 career batting average, three home runs and 38 RBI … has added 26 runs, 11 doubles, 21 walks, two sacrifice flies and two stolen bases (two attempts) in 80 games (42 starts) … in BIG EAST games, owns a career .309 batting average with three home runs and 19 RBI … has added 13 runs, eight doubles, nine walks, two sacrifice flies and one stolen base (one attempt) in 39 games (21 starts) … with an increased energy and good approach, can really help the Irish this spring … left-handed power hitter who could be key contributor at first base or designated hitter … made great strides at the plate in the fall of 2009, but struggled last spring with a multitude of ailments, including a wrist-injury that limited him for much of 2010 … imposing presence (6-4, 250) and quality athlete for his size, with potential to put up big power numbers.
