HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Concluded prep career by leading St. Joseph[apos]s to a 24-0 and a state championship as a senior, while anchoring a defense that set a school record by allowing only eight goals on the year named 2003 Indiana Player of the Year, in addition to receiving the Northern Indiana Player of the Year award the same year earned all-state, all-city, all-conference and team MVP honors as both a junior and a senior selected to play in the `04 Sports Fest All-Star game, as well as Indiana All-District games in `03 and [apos]04 holds St. Joseph[apos]s track and field school records in the 400 meters, 800 meters, 4×400 relay and 4×800 relay also holds the sectional and conference record in the 800 meters his 4×800 relay team holds the sectional, conference and regional record placed second at the `04 state finals in the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.87 earned two letters in track and field and one in basketball while at St. Joseph[apos]s participated in National Honor Society, Latin Club and Rotary Club in high school from same high school as current Notre Dame soccer teammate Brian Murphy father John is a `77 graduate of Notre Dame, uncle William is an [apos]84 graduate and sister Lindsey is a member of the university[apos]s class of [apos]06 born December 26, 1985 son of John and Cynthia Cavanaugh enrolled in the First Year of Studies.
