HONORS AND AWARDS:

• 2019 All-ACC Second Team, 10,000 Meters

AS A SENIOR:

• Placed fourth in the 5000m at the Iowa State Classic with a PR of 14:06.22
• Won the 3000m at the Notre Dame Invitational with a career-best time of 8:09.41

AS A JUNIOR:

• Established a new career-best 10K time of 29:57.35 with All-ACC Second Team honors at the ACC Outdoor Championships
• Set a then-PR in the 10K run (30:01.24) in a seventh-place showing at the Virginia Challenge

AS A SOPHOMORE:

• Competed in the 5,000-meter run (14:32.93) at the ACC Indoor Championships
• Established a PR in the 3,000-meter run with a first-place time of 8:22.74 at the Alex Wilson Invitational
• Finished third in the 3,000-meter run (8:27.87) at the Blue and Gold Invitational

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Did not compete during the 2016-17 season

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from St. John’s High School in May 2016
• Lettered in cross country four times, indoor track three times and outdoor track four times
• Named team captain of the track team for three years
• Received the David C. Cassidy award for the most well-rounded junior at the high school
• Graduated as the St. John’s record-holder in the two-mile race, distance medley relay and 4x800m relay
• Named the 2016 Gary McNulty Award Winner as the top senior athlete at the school
• Received the Richard Christmas award, given to the senior who has made a positive impact in the school community
• Selected as a 2016 New Balance Indoor Nationals 4x800m Relay All-American
• Son of Charles and Lynda Monahan
• Has two brothers, Eric and Michael
• Intends to major in science pre-professional studies
