• Anchored the state champion 4×800-meter relay team as a freshman
• Four-time all-state mention in the 1,600 meters, winning the state title as a junior
• Three-time all-state mention in the 3,200 meters
• Broke his school’s 3,200 meter record as a senior 
• Three-time all-state mention in the 800 meters
• Three-time all-state mention in cross country
• Broke his school’s 5K record as a junior
• Named the 2018-19 Powerade North Dakota Senior Athlete of the Year
• Member of DECA, Key Club (Vice President), student council and National Honor Society
• Won the Academic All-State award
• Son of Tony and Aileen Luz
• Has a younger sister, Anachelle
• Enrolled in the First Year of Studies program with plans to study finance
