Paul Cepak 2016-17 Fencing Roster

AS A SENIOR:

• Competed at both the DeCicco Duals and Northwestern Duals in 2017-18, finishing the season 21-3
• Posted a record of 19-3 at the DeCicco Duals
• Went 2-0 at the Northwestern Duals

AS A JUNIOR:

• Did not compete during the 2016-17 season.

AS A SOPHOMORE:  

• Went 27-4 on the season, bettering his all-time mark to 42-6
• Opened the season with a 27th-place finish at the Penn State Open
• Posted an 18-3 record at the DeCicco Duals
• Posted a 9-1 record at the Northwestern Duals

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Competed in both the Northwestern Duals and DeCicco Duals  
• At Northwestern, beat UC San Diego’s Peter Meckling 5-1 and Cal Tech’s Yu Han Nam 5-1 and Kai Chang 5-2  
• At DeCicco Duals, posted a 12-2 mark  

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Competed with fellow Irish freshman Francesca Russo at Bergen Fencing Club  
• As a senior, placed sixth individually in sabre competition  
• Graduated from Parsippany Hills in May 2014  
• In addition to fencing, was a member of DECA, school’s Model United Nations team and Junior Statesmen of America club  
• In DECA, held position of national social media correspondent and placed eighth in the nation at International Virtual Business Challenge
• Voted in as president of Model U.N. and treasurer of Junior Statesmen of America clubs  
• Biggest athletic thrill to date is being admitted to Notre Dame  
• Youngest child of Andrew and Lidia Cepak  
• Has two older sisters  
• Eldest sister Monica competed in track and field at Princeton  
• Hails from Morris Plains, New Jersey
• Enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business
