AS A FRESHMAN:
Posted a double-double in two games and scored in double figures in eight games among his 29 appearances in 1998-99 … scored tying basket vs. West Virginia that knotted score at 69-69 with 36.3 seconds left … attracted immediate attention with his physical style of play … made an immediate impact off the bench for the Irish … had 11 points coming off the bench vs. Seton Hall in 17 minutes of action and scored 11 points in 22 minutes of action against West Virginia … made his first collegiate start vs. Seton Hall and had 10 points with 11 rebounds … played a career-high 36 minutes vs. the Pirates … also started the Rutgers game … came off the bench vs. Villanova and scored a career-high 22 points and registered a career-high 15 rebounds .. .in win against Providence had 13 points with four rebounds … had come off the bench in the first 18 games of the season … saw his playing time dramatically increase as the season. progressed … averaged just 6. 7 minutes of playing time per game in the first three contests of the season, but averaged 17.6 minutes per game after that … scored a then career-high 17 points vs. Duke in the first round of the Great Alaska Shootout and also scored 11 points with nine rebounds vs. Indiana … added 15 points with four rebounds vs. Connecticut (Jan. 12).
