  • Named an alternate captain for the 2021-22 season.
  • Began season on a three-game point streak, including an assist on the overtime game winner at Michigan Tech (Oct. 9-16; 0-3-3).
  • Set a career-high for assists in a game with three in 5-1 home win over Wisconsin (Nov. 12).
  • Earned first multi-goal game of his career with two goals, including the game-tying goal, in the 3-2 win over Michigan State (Dec. 10).
  • Notched a goal against Niagara (Jan. 1).
  • Recorded assists in three straight games, capped off by an assist on Max Ellis’ last-second overtime winner at Penn State (Jan. 8).
  • Scored the overtime game winner to knock off Ohio State on the road, 3-2 (Jan. 14).
  • The overtime game winner against the Buckeyes set a career-high point streak with five games (Jan. 1-14; 2-3-5).
  • Tied a career-high in points with a goal and two assists in 8-2 victory over Boston College (Jan. 19). 
  • Notched two assists against Minnesota, including one on Landon Slaggert’s overtime game winner (Jan. 29).
  • Tallied a goal and an assist enroute to a 4-2 victory at Michigan State (Feb. 19).
  • Scored the final goal on a breakaway to seal the 4-1 win over No. 2 Michigan (Feb. 25).
  • Assisted on Trevor Janicke’s game winner in the closing minutes against No. 2 Michigan (Feb. 26) on senior night to extend his point streak to three games (Feb. 19-26; 2-2-4).
  • Assisted on Trevor Janicke’s game-winning goal with 20.7 seconds left in game 2 of the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals against Wisconsin (Mar. 5).

AS A JUNIOR

  • Skated in all 29 games, scoring a career-high five goals and adding seven assists for 12 points. 
  • Stastney’s five goals were tied with Nick Leivermann and Michigan’s Nick Blankenburg for the most by a Big Ten defenseman.
  • Had one multipoint game on the season with a goal and an assist in the 6-1 win at Ohio State (Feb. 5).
  • Scored the opening goal in Notre Dame’s 2-1 win at then third-ranked Michigan (Nov. 28).
  • Also had goals against Arizona State (Jan. 10), at Penn State (Jan. 29) and at Ohio State (Feb. 6).

2019-20 AWARDS AND HONORS

  • Academic All-Big Ten (May 11)
  • Named to Team USA for the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship (Czech Republic) and, along with classmate Jake Pivonka, became Notre Dame’s 21st and 22nd players to take part in the prestigious tournament

AS A SOPHOMORE

  • Scored three goals and recorded 17 assists for 20 points, all of which marked career-high totals.
  • Played in 36 games as a sophomore.
  • Recorded a +4 rating during the 2019-20 season. 
  • Scored one goal and recorded two assists in the 6-4 victory to secure the series sweep against Lake Superior State (Oct. 26), marking the first multi-point game of his career.
  • Scored one goal in the 5-3 road victory against Minnesota (Nov. 2).
  • Recorded two assists in the 6-4 loss against Wisconsin (Jan. 24), his third multi-point game of the season while the two assists tied his career high total.
  • Recorded two assists in the 5-2 victory against Wisconsin (Jan. 25), marking his fourth multi-point game of the season and of his career.

2018-19 AWARDS AND HONORS
• ACHA All-American Scholar
• Named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team (March 23).

AS A FRESHMAN

• Notched one goal and three assists in 39 games in his first season at Notre Dame.
• Notched his first career point with an assist versus Boston College in Notre Dame’s 4-0 victory (Dec. 31).
• Led the Chicago Blackhawks onto the ice for the 2019 Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium (Jan. 1).
• Scored the three-on-three double overtime winner against Wisconsin at the United Center (Jan. 20) to secure the additional point in the Big Ten standings (not officially recognized as a goal).
• Had the primary assist on Mike O’Leary’s  game-winning, power-play goal in Notre Dame’s 1-0 Big Ten Quarterfinal game one victory over Michigan State early in the third period (March 8).
• Scored his first official Notre Dame goal to give the Irish a 1-0 lead in the eventual 3-2 Big Ten Championship victory over Penn State (March 23).
• Named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team (March 23).

NHL DRAFT

  • Selected in the fifth round, 131st overall, by the Nashville Predators in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

WITH USA HOCKEY

  • Spent two seasons (2016-18) with the USNTDP before joining the Irish.
  • Posted 20 points in 57 career games with the USNTDP.
  • Recorded 14 assists during 2017-18.
  • Represented Team USA at the 2018 U18 World Championship, helping the team to a silver medal behind his goal and four assists.
  • Recorded two assists for Team USA during the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge.

PREP AND PERSONAL

  • Ranked #93 by NHL Central Scouting’s list of players eligible for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
  • Played for the Chicago Mission U16 from 2015-16.
  • Won the High Performance Hockey League Championship as a member of the Chicago Mission U16.
