CAREER AWARDS & HONORS:
- Third Team All-ACC
AS A JUNIOR (2018):
- Started 20 matches at a central defensive midfield position and played in all 21 contests during his junior season.
- Recorded two assists on the season.
- Logged the assist on the match-winning goal against No. 10 Virginia in the NCAA Championships Round of 16, sending a ball into the boss that was headed in by Jack Lynn with one second left in the first overtime session.
- Played an integral role in Notre Dame recording nine clean sheets and holding opponents to one or no goals in 17 of 21 matches.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017):
- Started 19 games at midfield.
- Helped the Irish defense to five shutouts on the year.
- Opened the season with an assist in a 2-0 victory over San Diego in the Berticelli Tournament at Alumni Stadium.
- Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016):
- Ranked 10th in the postseason TopDrawerSoccer Freshmen Top 100 ratings.
- Named to the TDS Freshman Best XI.
- Selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team.
- ACC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll recipient.
- Started all 21 Notre Dame games in the central midfield, the only Irish freshman to appear in every match of first season.
- Earned first career assist and attempted 10 total shots during the season.
- Aided the Notre Dame defensive corps to a season that yielded an 0.82 goals against average and nine shutouts.
- Irish defense limited UConn to one shot on goal for the entire game in a win during the second overtime against the Huskies.
- Notre Dame back line kept No. 3 North Carolina to a single shot on goal on Senior Night in a scoreless draw to close the 2016 regular season.
- Served the primary assist on the first Notre Dame goal of a win against Duke in the first round of the ACC Championship.
- Grounded Loyola offense to one shot on goal in the second round of the NCAA Championship.
PREP AND PERSONAL:
- Enrolled at Notre Dame in January of 2016 after spending the previous three years in the United States Soccer Under-17 Residency Program.
- Becomes the second Irish player to have joined the program from the U.S. Soccer U17 Residency Program, along with Brendan King (’12).
- Played for the U.S. U17s in the 2015 U17 World Cup in Chile.
- Two-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Youth All-America selection (2014 and 2015).
- Competed during freshman season at the Delbarton School in New Jersey, winning the Non Public A state championship with the Green Wave after the team posted a 23-1 record.
- Played on the club circuit with PDA alongside Notre Dame teammate Jack Casey, claiming the 2012 U15 National Premier League (NPL) National Championship.
- Son of Tom and Susie McCabe.
