AS A JUNIOR:

• Played exclusively in the fall, posting a 1-6 record
• Defeated Butler’s Sullivan at the WMU/Vredevelt Invite in three sets (7-6(4), 3-6, 10-2)

AS A SOPHOMORE:

• Played primarily in the fall for the Irish
• Went 5-9 in singles matches and posted a record of 5-5 in doubles matches

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Went 4-7 in singles (2-0 duals) and 5-6 in doubles (1-0 duals) to start his career
• Saw action against Detroit Mercy and IUPUI
• Earned a monogram

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from Cape Henry Collegiate School (Virginia Beach, Va.) in June 2016
• Made round of 16 in doubles at Kalamazoo 18s
• Played varsity soccer for three years as well as varsity tennis for four years
• Was a salutatorian at Cape Henry Collegiate
• Volunteered at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter and served as a lector for St. Gregory the Great Church
• Son of John and Stephanie Somers
• Has two younger brothers, Aedan and Flynn, and a younger sister, Jillian
• Enrolled in the First Year of Studies with plans to major in science-business.
