AS A SENIOR (2011): Captured the prestigious Byron V. Kanaley Award, given to Notre Dame senior monogram athletes who have been most exemplary as students and leaders; the Top Gun Award, given to the graduating intercollegiate student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average; and a Monogram Club Postgraduate Scholarship at the 2011 O.S.C.A.R.S. ceremony … also selected as the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley Knute Rockne Student-Athlete Award winner … appeared in 32 games, with 25 starts split between second base (21) and designated player (four) in final season with the Irish … batted .314 with four doubles, a career-high 18 RBI and 15 runs scored … career .972 fielding percentage is tied for 20th all-time in program history among players with 150 or more chances … picked up a pinch-hit RBI single and scored one run against Bowling Green (April 12) … added a double and two RBI in first start of the season at second base in the nightcap against the Falcons (April 12) … perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI against Loyola-Chicago (April 13) … chipped in two base hits and drove in a pair of runs in the final game of a BIG EAST set against Louisville (April 17) … knocked in a run on an RBI single in the first game of a league twin bill at USF (April 27) … drove in a season-high four runs and scored two more in the series finale against St. John’s (May 1) … was a combined 6-for-8 (.750) with six RBI and five runs scored against Connecticut (May 7-8) in final career BIG EAST regular season series.

AS A JUINOR (2010): Led the BIG EAST and ranked 20th nationally with a team-high .453 batting average before her season ended with a knee injury at Western Michigan (March 18) … the injury came against the Broncos while sliding into third for a triple, the first of her career … her batting average and on-base pct. (.604) set the single-season Notre Dame records … singled in two runs against Creighton (Feb. 12) to start a four-game hitting streak to open the season … it was the first of three four-game hitting streaks on the season … 3-for-4 with three RBI and a double to lead the Irish in a win at Southern Miss (Feb. 20) … had two hits against both George Washington and Virginia on Feb. 26, driving in a pair of runs while scoring three times with one home run for the day … the effort capped off her second four-game hitting streaking through 10 games on the season … had two hits and stole one base against Virginia (Feb. 27) … had a perfect 3-for-3 day at plate against East Tennessee State (March 6) … scored a season-high three runs at UC Riverside (March 7) … doubled and scored a run against UNLV (March 13).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009): Emerged as one of the top up-and-coming players in the BIG EAST Conference … earned third team all-league honors before copping a spot on the NFCA all-region team … also tabbed to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District squad (3.98 grade-point average) … currently second on the program’s career fielding percentage list (.994) … third among league players with .439 batting average in conference competition … seventh with .646 slugging percentage … fourth in on-base percentage (.518) … third among Irish players in overall batting average (.355) and second in on-base percentage (.450), the 10th-best mark in school history … one of seven players to hit over .300 … six doubles and five home runs … 33 hits and 24 runs … 54 total bases … stole four bases in four attempts … overall slugging percentage (.581) was good for 13th on the all-time single-season list … two hits, two runs, two RBI with a double and home run against Sacramento State (Feb. 21) … belted a grand slam against Seton Hall (April 5) … 2-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored versus DePaul (April 8) … 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one home run and two stolen bases at Wisconsin (April 14) … 2-for-2 with a double against Rutgers (April 19) … six-game hitting streak from April 26-May 3, tallying eight hits over that stretch … 2-for-3 against Louisville with two runs and a home run … also recorded two doubles in the series with the Cardinals … recorded one hit against both Louisville (May 8) and DePaul (May 9) in the BIG EAST Championship … recorded two assists from the outfield, one versus East Carolina (Feb. 14) and DePaul (April 8).

AS A FRESHMAN (2008): Displayed her versatility by playing several different positions for the Irish throughout the season … ended up behind the plate for the final 22 contests of the campaign after seeing action across the outfield and at first base … entered the game versus Utah (Feb. 15) as a pinch runner to see her first collegiate action … singled, stole one base, and scored a run against Western Kentucky (Feb. 16) … was hit by a pitch against North Florida (Feb. 22) but earned revenge by racking a double against the Lady Ospreys one day later … doubled against Pacific (March 1) to drive in her first RBI of the campaign … started in rightfield against UC Davis (March 1) but filled in at first base after a Heather Johnson’s knee injury prompted a shift in the lineup … came through in that game with a single, one swiped bag, drew a walk, and scored once for the Irish while also gloving six putouts … worked the count for a walk at UC Riverside (March 4) with the bases loaded to force in a run … singled against Long Beach State (March 7) and Virginia Tech (March 8) … drove in one run with her double against Towson (March 14) … went 1-for-2 and scored two of Notre Dame’s 16 runs at Charleston Southern (March 14) … singled during a 2-0 win at DePaul (March 30) … made the switch from the outfield to catcher against Wisconsin (April 16) and assumed that starting role for the remainder of the season … also singled to drive in a run against the Badgers … had two hits, one RBI and scored at South Florida (April 20) … drew two walks and had a hit against Loyola-Chicago (April 24) … had three hits and scored three times during a doubleheader at Syracuse (May 4) … went 1-for-3 with a double against Louisville in the BIG EAST Championship, and scored Notre Dame’s only run of the tournament … did not commit an error in 143 chances for a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage … batted .196 with 27 hits and scored 16 runs … had five doubles, 10 RBI and 32 total bases … stole six bags.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Bishop O’Connell (Va.) student-athlete of the year for the 2006-07 school year … also Bishop O’Connell’s female athlete of the year … first team all-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) honoree in 2007 … also claimed first-team honors from the Virginia Independent Schools Softball Association (VISSA) and the Washington Post … led prep squad to four consecutive WCAC and VISSA championships … the team did not lose to a conference team over the four-year stretch … travel team, Shamrocks, made top-5 finishes at the ASA Gold Nationals in 2006 and 2007 … hit .469 with 46 hits in 98 at-bats as a junior … also member of varsity basketball and track teams … daughter of Nicholas and Stephanie Marrone … both parents – as well as both grandfathers – and five aunts and uncles graduated from Notre Dame … two cousins (Anna Marrone and Paul Phelan) also attended Notre Dame … has one brother, Tighe … graduated with a degree in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business.
