AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team in only season playing in the conference – was the first Notre Dame freshman to earn all-conference honors since Laura Winter (2011) … finished freshman season with the ninth-best career fielding percentage (.988) among Irish players with 150 or more career chances … led all Irish freshmen with a .259 batting average, two home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs in 42 games (27 starts) … made first career start at first base at Charlotte (Feb. 9), contributing an RBI and making 11 putouts in the field … picked up first career hit, a three-run home run in the second inning, as part of a 2-for-3 day against Cal Poly (Feb. 15) … logged an RBI single and scored a run against Liberty (Feb. 23) … clocked a two-run double in only at-bat against Boston College (March 2) … had second career multi-hit game the following day against Maryland (March 3) … registered a pinch-hit RBI single at the ASU Diamond Devil Invitational against New Mexico State (March 10) … 1-for-2 with a double against Iona (March 15) … roped a pinch-hit two-run single in the second game of a BIG EAST doubleheader at Georgetown (April 3) … smashed second home run of the season and scored three runs during the first game of a doubleheader against Rutgers (April 14) … recorded an RBI single to help the Irish cause at Pittsburgh (April 20).

PREP AND PERSONAL: Three-time all-conference choice while prepping at Mater Dei (Calif.) … competed on the travel circuit with the California Angels … led Angels to the 2011 ASA 18-under Champions Cup title, while also winning the same event in 2009 in the 16-under division … team Most Valuable Player as a senior … missed the bulk of her junior season with an injury but managed to hit .423 in 15 games with 13 RBI … first team all-Trinity League choice in 2010 while Mater Dei claimed the league title … named team’s defensive MVP as a sophomore … first team all-league selection as a freshman … also earned team’s “Clutch Hitter” award after Mater Dei won the Trinity League trophy in 2009 … follows the footsteps that Mater Dei graduate and Irish All-American third baseman Heather Johnson (`11) took to the Golden Dome … Heisman Trophy winner John Huarte also prepped at Mater Dei … daughter of Marie O’Beck, who played softball at Long Beach State … member of the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, campus ministry and Renaissance Club … hails from the same area as Irish teammates Casey Africano and Karley Wester … graduated from the Mendoza College of Business with a degree in marketing.
