Bill Bauman 2007-08 Swimming and Diving Roster

AS A JUNIOR: Had breakout performances in the 50 (23.93) and 100 (51.57) Back at the Shamrock Invitational, both of which were personal bests … was among the team[apos]s top performers in those events … cut over a second while dropping down to 48.08 in the 100 Free and improved to a 21.80 in the 50 Free at the Ohio State Invitational … went four rounds in the 200 Back on the season … fastest time was set at the Shamrock Invitational (1:55.37) while swimming a 1:55.75 at the Ohio State Invitational, taking off five seconds of his first shot in the event against USC (2:01.46) … honored with the Notre Dame Captain[apos]s Award … also recipient of team[apos]s most improved swimmer award.

AS A SOPHOMORE:Finished in 21.94 in the 50 Free at the Ohio State Invitational … top time in the 100 Free (49.45) came against Northwestern … at the BIG EAST Conference Championships, darted through with performances of 51.76 in the 100 Back, 1:52.87 in the 200 Back and 1:55.69 in the 200 IM.

AS A FRESHMAN:Clocked BIG EAST A-cuts in the 100 Back, 200 Back and 200 IM … placed 30th in the prelims of the 100 Back at the BIG EAST Championships with a time of 53.62 … his top 100 Back performance (52.86) came at the Notre Dame Invitational … top 200 Back time of 1:57.76 came at the BIG EAST Championships … placed 34th in the prelims of that event … finished 42nd in the prelims of the 200 IM at the conference meet with a time of 1:57.49.

THE BAUMAN FILE:Four-time letterwinner in swimming at Cathedral (Pa.) … gained all-conference, all-city, all-state and All-American honors in sophomore, junior and senior years … regional champion all four years of prep career … conference champion sophomore, junior and senior years … team captain and MVP during an undefeated senior season … also a three-time letterwinner in water polo … earned all-city and all-state water polo honors on three occasions … second-team All-American as a senior … water polo team captain and MVP… school and district record holder in 200 IM, 200 IM Relay and 400 Free Relay … older brother, Doug, was an accomplished swimmer for the Irish before graduating in 2006 … son of Carolyn and John Bauman … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as an accountancy major … made the dean[apos]s list the spring of 2007 and 2008.
