Daniel Rave 2007-08 Swimming and Diving Roster

AS A JUNIOR:Produced a set of season-best performances at the BIG EAST Championships in the 100 (57.24) and 200 (2:01.73) Breast as well as the 400 IM (4:03.45) … his efforts at the Ohio State Invitational sealed a new personal best mark in the 200 IM (1:55.77) … solid effort in the 400 IM at the Ohio State Invitational (4:06.29) … tried his hand in the 50 Free (23.38) against LSU … swam the 200 Free (1:48.00) at the Shamrock Invitational … went the distance on two occasions in the 1,000 Free, maxing out against Cleveland State (10:13.81) … swam the 200 Breast on 12 occasions while going through the 100 Breast nine times.

AS A SOPHOMORE:Posted five of the top-10 Irish marks in the 200 Breast throughout the year … at the BIG EAST Championships, he turned in season-best times in the 100 Breast (57.33), 200 Breast (1:59.86) and 400 IM (4:06.28) … quickest performance in the 200 Fly (1:58.55) was swam against Louisville … at the Shamrock Invite, touched the wall in a season-best 1:57.00 in the 200 IM … his time of 1:59.86 in the 200 Breast is a school record.

AS A FRESHMAN:Notre Dame[apos]s top swimmer in the 200 Breast … fifth on the team in the 100 Breast and 400 IM … narrowly missed out on all-BIG EAST honors in the 200 Breast as he finished fourth with a time of 2:02.25 … his mark of 2:01.57 in the 200 Breast prelims was a season-best mark and placed him as the second-best performer in Notre Dame history in that event … finished 14th in the 400 IM at the BIG EAST meet with a season-best time of 4:00.47 … 18th in the 100 Breast at the conference meet with his top time of the season (57.83).

THE RAVE FILE:Participated in the Germany Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008 … finished six at the German Nationals in 2006 while swimming the 200 Breast … member of Germany[apos]s Junior National swim team from 2002-2004 … set multiple records during club career in Hannover … participated in several German national meets … represented Germany in the Three-Nations Meet … son of Aloisia and Ortwin Rave … both parents are identical twins … family[apos]s genealogy dates back to the 12th century without interruption as he is in the 25th generation … had never stepped foot on Notre Dame[apos]s campus prior to arriving as a freshman … once won the Hannover City Triathlon … aspires to swim through the Straight of Gibraltar and across the English Channel … ambidextrous … enrolled in the College of Engineering as a chemical engineering major … found a spot on Notre Dame[apos]s dean list in spring 2008 with a 4.0 grade-point-average … member of Pi Tau Sigma (Mechanical Engineering Honor Society).
