Team captain … has spent his career in the distance lane for the Irish … loves to train and loves to race … will continue to be the heart of the distance freestylers … three-time monogram winner.

As a Junior: Unleashed a trio of personal-best times on the season at the BIG EAST Championships in the 200 Free (1:39.35), 50 Free (4:30.78), and 1,650 Free (15:34.89) … that finish in the 200 Free was the teams[apos] eighth-best on year, while the 1,650 Free registry was second … took home all-conference honors in the 1,650 Free … helped team for the fast time in the 200 Free Relay (1:25.68) at Cleveland State … his 47.25 in the 100 Free at the Ohio State Invitational was his best of the year … a time of 1:57.36 in the 200 Back in a dual meet with Louisville was his lowest of the campaign … clocked in against Northwestern with a time of 9:31.32 in the 1,000 Free.

As a Sophomore: BIG EAST champ in the 800 Free Relay as the Irish unit posted a school-record time of 6:35.47 … notched career-best times in the 200, 500 and 1,650 Free events … all of those marks occurred at the BIG EAST Championships … placed fourth in the 1,650 Free (15:38.65) … fifth in the 200 Free with a time of 1:40.22 … had a career-best time of 1:40.10 in the prelims … clocked a seventh-place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 4:34.30 … his prelim time of 4:30.91 was a season-best performance … had a 1,000-yard split time of 9:29.40 during the 1,650 Free at the BIG EAST meet … that ranks as the seventh-best mark in program history … was part of five victorious relay teams throughout the season … received the team[apos]s Most Improved award … named to the BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team.

As a Freshman: Swam BIG EAST ‘A’ cuts in the 200 Free (1:41.70), 500 Free (4:36.14) and 1,650 Free (15:48.72) … seventh in the 1,650 Free at the BIG EAST Championships … clocked a conference ‘B’ cut in the 100 Free (47.63) … placed 10th at the BIG EAST Championships in the 200 Free … collected 81 total points on the season (76 individual, 5 Relay) … runner-up in the 1,000 Free versus St. Bonaventure … Notre Dame finished first-second-third in that race.

The Seery File: Earned All-America honors in the 200 and 500 Free in each of final two seasons at Garden City (N.Y.) … posted nation[apos]s14th-fastest time 15- and 16-year-old boys in the 1,650 Free (15:39.39) in 2003 … second in the state in the 500 Free as a senior and third in the 500 Free his junior season … qualified for the 2003 national championships in the 800 Free Relay … set school records in the 100, 200, and 500 Free and the 200 IM … all-state swimmer as a junior and senior … three-time all-conference swimmer and two-time conference champion … achieved a national ranking his junior and senior seasons … was also team MVP those years … New York Section 8 MVP his final campaign … served as team captain in his final season … also earned a varsity letter in cross country … has two sisters, Lauren and Caroline … Lauren played lacrosse at Boston College, and Caroline currently plays at Columbia … finance major in Mendoza College of Business.
