Nathan Geary 2009-10 Swimming and Diving Roster

AS A SENIOR: Dove to his first BIG EAST title from the 3-meter mark in his senior campaign by totaling 369.10 points … that score was a career record … tallied 318.55 points from the 1-meter distance at the BIG EAST Championships for a ninth-place finish … that performance was a season-best total … wrapped up his Notre Dame career as the fifth-best performer in school history off the 3-meter board and the ninth-best performer from the 1-meter height … finished 15th at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with 639.05 points.

AS A JUNIOR:Collected all-BIG EAST honors in both the 1- and 3-meter dives with his pair of second place finishes … scored a 326.75 in the 1-meter and a 343.70 in the 3-meter event at the league meet … the 1-meter performance was a career high … one of his most impressive performances came against Louisville where he won the 3-meter and took second in the 1-meter … took home eight top three performances on the dual meet season … finished in 14th place at the 3-meter height at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

AS A SOPHOMORE:Topped out with a 1-meter score of 313.65 during a dual meet with Northwestern … posted a 273.30 in that event at the BIG EAST Championships … best 3-meter performance came against Olivet to end the season … scored 330.37 in that event … maxed the BIG EAST 3-meter portion of the meet with a total of 317.00 points … advanced to the 1-meter finals of the NCAA Zone Championships and finished 18th with a 564.20 … College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All- Academic Honorable Mention.

AS A FRESHMAN:Showed steady progress throughout the campaign … season- best 1-meter dive performance came against Oakland where he tallied a score of 288.30 … one week later he registered another best at 346.80 against Northwestern off the 3-meter board … represented the Irish diving squad at the BIG EAST Championships … finished 11th in prelims off the 3 meter with a score of 277.60 and ninth from 1-meter with a 275.90.

THE GEARY FILE:Continued to display improvement at the state meet his final three prep seasons at Lancaster (N.Y.) … deemed a two- time All-American off the board and gathered an academic All-American distinction his senior season as well … holds each of his high school[apos]s diving records … took third at the state meet his junior year … designated team captain by head coach Dan Szymanski … member of the Math and Science Honor Society … member of Notre Dame[apos]s Rosenthal Leadership Academy … represented Notre Dame at the 2008 NCAA Leadership Conference … worked as a counselor at the University of Texas[apos] diving camp during this past summer … avid supporter of each of Buffalo[apos]s professional sport franchises … son of Cynthia and Kenneth Geary … born Nov. 2, 1989, in Cheektowaga, N.Y. … graduated from the College of Arts and Letters within the Program of Liberal Studies.
