AS A SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Continued to establish himself as stalwart distance freestyler throughout second season at Notre Dame … began the year at home against Michigan State, finishing fourth in the 500 free (4:42.31) and earning a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 200 free (1:44.76) and with the 400 medley relay (47.81 split) … at Virginia Tech, touched the wall fifth in the 1650 free (16:10.82) and 11th in the 500 free (4:45.75) … swimming in the Purdue Invitational, earned 17th in the 500 free (4:31.44 finals, 4:39.39 prelims), 25th in the 200 free (1:41.54 finals, 1:46.09 prelims) and 13th in the 1650 free (16:03.67) in addition to helping 800 free relay finish ninth (1:41.86 split) … at Virginia, clocked in at 4:45.62 in the 500 free and 1:44.70 in the 200 free … touched the wall eighth in the 1,000 free (10:16.61) and fifth with the 400 free relay (47.91 split) … raced in the 200 free (1:44.07) and with the 400 free relay (48.98 split) against Northwestern … swam the 500 (4:41.89), 200 (1:47.87) and 1650 (16:16.92) freestyle events in addition to the 800 free relay (1:48,64 split) at the Shamrock Invitational … finished the year at the Michigan First Chance meet, taking sixth in the 500 free (4:28.61), fourth in the 200 free (1:38.73), second in the 1650 free (15:27.03) and time-trialing in the 200 fly (1:50.69).

PREP & PERSONAL: Swam with the Dauphins du T.O.E.C. in addition to prep school team … as a freshman, finished second at the European Youth Olympic Festival in the 200 freestyle event and third in the 100 freestyle race … as a sophomore, qualified for the Junior European Championships as a member of the 200 freestyle relay team … won the semifinal race at the French Championships in the 200 butterfly event as a junior … advanced to the semifinal race at the French Championships in the 200 freestyle as a senior … graduated from Lycee Bellevue in July 2014 … biggest athletic thrill to date was winning his first medal at the French Championships … parents are Eric and Anne Jany … has two brothers, Brian and David … born in Toulouse, France, and currently resides in Vigoulet-Auzil … majoring in Finance and Mathematics at the University.
