AS A FRESHMAN: Swam sprint freestyle and backstroke events in his first year with the Irish … began his collegiate career at the Dennis Stark Relays (Oct. 10), logging a 21.00 split-time in the 200 free relay, a 52.35 time in the 3×100 back relay and a 24.76 split in the 200 medley relay … versus Purdue (Nov. 1), anchored D-team lineup in 200 medley relay with 20.71 split … also came in sixth in 50 free (21.59) and anchored 400 free relay B-team to third with 46.75 split (3:07.16) … against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech (Nov. 7-8), anchored B-team in 200 free relay to sixth place (21.09 split, 1:24.53) … came in fifth with C-team in 200 medley relay, swimming lead leg (24.75 split, 1:35.43) … clocked in at 21.76 in 50 free … anchored C-team lineup in 400 free relay (48.05 split, 3:11.09) … at Michigan State (Nov. 14), touched the wall in 1:46.02 in 200 free, finished in 48.25 in the 100 free and clocked a 55.87 time in the 100 fly … at Hawkeye Invitational (Dec. 5-7), clocked a 21.43 in the prelims of the 50 free, finishing 21st in the evening finals (21.57) … led the C-team lineup in 200 medley relay (25.12 split, 1:35.39) … swam a 53.02 time in the 100 fly prelims … in 100 back, clocked a 53.39 in the prelims and finished 18th in evening finals (52.55) … in 100 free, touched the wall in 47.04 in prelims, improving to 46.51 in the finals … against Michigan and Northwestern (Jan. 9-10), swam the 100 back (54.20) and 50 free (22.03) … at Shamrock Invitational (Jan. 30-31), anchored B-team lineup to fourth place (20.30 split, 1:24.20) … clocked a 21.10 time in the 50 free and a 51.19 in the 100 back in addition to finishing in 46.18 in the 100 free… finished meet with 200 medley relay C-team with 23.82 split (1:31.83) and with 400 free relay B-team (46.12 split, 3:02.12) … finished the season against Cleveland State (Feb. 7), swimming in the 50 free (21.19) and 100 fly (52.95).
