AS A SENIOR (2015-16): Capped his Irish career by lending leadership and experience to a young team, and was honored with the Charles Blanchard Award at team banquet at the end of the year … began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, swimming to second place with the 400 medley relay team (51.17 split) and fifth place in the 400 IM relay (54.03 split) … against Michigan State, earned two fifth-place finishes in the 400 medley relay (52.08 split) and 400 IM (4:14.90), touching the wall eighth in the 200 back (1:58.99) … at Virginia Tech against Pittsburgh and the Hokies, swam to 11th in both the 300 IM (4:12.51) and 200 Fly (1:57.51) … at Purdue Invitational, clocked in 4:47.36 in the 500 free and helped 400 medley relay team finish 17th (50.11 split) … in the 400 IM, touched the wall in 4:07.85 in the prelims and finished in 4:01.687 in the finals … swam the 1650 free in 16:22.38, and clocked in a 1:51.22 in the 200 fly … at Virginia, earned a fifth place finish in the 200 fly (1:53.15) and fourth place in the 400 IM (4:05.83) … against Northwestern, touched the wall fourth in 200 fly (1:54.29) and sixth in the 200 IM (1:55.72) … at Shamrock Invitational, highest finish came with 200 medley relay team in 13th (24.81 split), but had strong swims in the 400 IM (4:09.71), 200 IM (1:55.88), 100 Fly (52.96) and 200 Fly (1:56.86) … finished the year swimming at ACC Championships, tying for 38th in the 200 IM (1:48.66), touching the wall 19th in the 400 IM (3:54.05 finals, 3:53.01 prelims) and 23rd in the 200 fly (1:49.65 finals, 1:49.40) … earned a monogram.

AS A JUNIOR (2014-15): Swam a wide variety of events for the Irish … against Purdue (Nov. 1) swam lead leg of the 200 medley relay (c-team), earning a 25.39 split and sixth-place finish (1:38.06) … finished eighth in 100 back (54.94) and in 200 back (1:56.92) … against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech (Nov. 7-8), logged a 4:12.44 time in the 400 IM and a 1:59.87 mark in the 200 IM … swam the 200 fly in 2:02.90 … led the D-team in the 200 medley relay event with a 25.86 split … at Michigan State (Nov. 14) clocked in at 2:00.51 in the 200 fly … finished the 200 breast in 2:25.28 … touched the wall in 4:30.67 in the 400 IM … at the Hawkeye Invitational, logged a 4:43.93 showing in the 500 free … finished 11th in the 400 IM (4:02.20) after touching the wall in 4:07.20 in prelims … swam the 1650 free in 16:28.55 … helped the C-team in the 400 free relay to 10th place (3:06.68) … against Michigan and Northwestern, swam a 1:57.33 in the 200 fly … came in sixth in the 200 back (1:56.62) … finished eighth in the 200 IM (1:58.86) … at Shamrock Invitational, swam in the 200 IM (1:50.01), the 400 IM (3:55.33) and the 200 fly (1:49.06) … finished the season against Cleveland State with a 49.90 showing in the 100 fly and a 20.60 split in the 200 free relay (C-team).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Swam the 200 back plus 200 and 400 IM primarily while dabbling in freestyle events … first in 400 IM (3:55.52) at Shamrock Invitational and fifth in 200 back (1:49.79) … his 400 IM time marked a personal best … swam lead leg of 400 free relay (49.32) against Wisconsin and led 200 medley relay teams in meets against Auburn (25.78) and Air Force (26.08) … came in fifth in 400 IM (3:54.80) at Hawkeye Invitational after touching the wall in 3:57.53 in prelims … also swam 200 back (1:50.08) and 200 fly (1:51.98) at Hawkeye meet … came in eighth in 100 back (54.07) in dual meet against former BIG EAST rival Louisville … touched the wall fourth in 200 free (1:44.76) at last home meet of the year against Cleveland State.

AS A FRESHMAN (2012-13): Saw action in the 1,600 free (15:42.88), 200 back (1:49.49), 200 IM (1:51.39) and 400 IM (3:56.86) at the BIG EAST Championships … participated in six regular season meets during his freshman campaign … in the Shamrock Invitational, placed fifth in the 200 back (1:54.24) … swam against Pittsburgh in the 200 back (1:55.22), earning fifth place, and also was a member of the 400 free relay team that reaped a fifth-place finish … BIG EAST Academic All-Star … monogram winner.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Four-year letterman at St. Joseph’s Prep for coach Paul Morrissey … member of a Philadelphia Catholic League Championship team with the Hawks … four-time all-Philadelphia Catholic League selection … named to the all-state team … Scholastic All-American … club squad was the Tri-Hampton YMCA Swim Team … YMCA Nationals Finalist … YMCA All-American … USA Swimming Junior and Senior Nationals qualifier … named an AP Scholar with Distinction … member of the National Honor Society … received a Silver Medal for chemistry at St. Joseph’s Prep … son of Paul and Lori McKenzie … has one sister, Kylie … has one brother, Brandon … graduated from the College of Engineering with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
