AS A JUNIOR (2014-15): Continued to show improvement throughout junior campaign, before injury ended year in late January … opened campaign with a pair of second-place finishes against Michigan State … went 59.99 in the 100 back and 2:09.57 in the 200 back to claim the silver in both events … best times included 59.04 in the 100 back (Texas Invitational), 2:04.88 in the 200 back (Texas) and 2:08.62 in the 200 IM (Texas).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Saw action in free, back, breast, fly, IM and free relay events in her second season with the Irish … finished in 12th place out of 132 swimmers in the 200 back and 11th out of 121 swimmers in the 200 IM against Auburn/Indiana … swam a career-best time in 100 back (58.15), 200 back (2:03.19) and the 100 breast (1:06.59) at the Hawkeye Invitational.

AS A FRESHMAN (2012-13): Versatile swimmer who saw action in free, back, breast and IM events during freshman campaign with the Irish … secured the bronze in 100 breast at the Shamrock Invitational … part of the 400 free relay team that brought home the gold against Pittsburgh … swam season-best time in 200 breast (2:25.19) against Purdue, placing fifth in the event.

HIGH SCHOOL & PERSONAL: Graduated from Northwest Catholic (Conn.) in the spring of 2012 … swam for West Harford Aquatic team since the age of seven due to the absence of a school swimming program … regularly qualified for the CT Zones team, an all-star team that competes in regional meets … has won a multitude of state championships over the past four years … participated in the USA Swimming’s Short Course Junior National Championship on several occasions … three-time finalist at national meets in Irvine, California and Orlando, Florida … nearly earned a spot at the Olympic Trials in the 100m breast … was a member of the National Honor Society … full name is Sydney Christine Golic … born in Orlando, Florida to Mike and Christine Golic … daughter of former Notre Dame and NFL football player Mike Golic (`85), sister to former football players Mike Golic Jr. (`12) and Jake Golic (`13) and niece to former football player and wrestler Bob Golic (`77) … enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters and is majoring in film, television and theatre.
