AS A JUNIOR (2015-16): Became a leader on the team, competing in a myriad of events throughout the season and racing at the ACC Championship and NCAA Championship meets in the post-season … at NCAAs, swam with the 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 800 free relay teams … led the 800 free team to 21st with 1:35.55 leadoff split … helped 200 free team to 18th (19.85 split) and 400 free lineup to 20th (43.75 split) … at ACC Championship qualified for the A finals in the 200 free and 100 breast … finished eighth in the 200 free (1:36.07 finals, 1:35.45 prelims) and sixth in the 100 breast (54.83 finals, 54.96 prelims) …also earned a spot in the B finals in the 500 free and 200 breast, finishing 12th in the 500 free (4:22.52 finals, 4:22.89 prelims) and 13th in the 200 breast (1:57.72 finals, 1:57.29 prelims) … swam with sixth-place 200 medley relay (24.50 breaststroke split) and fifth-place 800 free relay team (1:35.42 leadoff split) on the first night of the meet … also helped 400 medley relay lineup finish seventh, swimming 53.29 split in the breaststroke portion of the race … began the year at the Dennis Stark Relays, capturing first place in the 800 free relay (1:40.67 split) and 400 free relay (45.62 split) in addition to leading the 300 breast lineup to fourth place (59.11 leadoff split) … against Michigan State, finished third in the 200 free (1:43.37) and tied for fifth in the 100 free (47.99) … at Virginia Tech competing against Pittsburgh and the Hokies, highest finish came with 400 medley relay team that placed second (58.06 split) … earned third place with 800 free relay (1:45.65 leadoff split) and individually in the 100 breast (57.59) … finished fourth with the 200 free relay (21.81 leadoff split) and in the 200 breast (2:06.75) … capped the meet in sixth place with the 400 free relay team (48.40 leadoff split) … at Purdue Invitational, competed in the 500 free, 50 free, 200 free and 200 breast in addition to swimming on the 200 medley, 800 free and 400 free relays … touched the wall 25th in the 500 free (4:33.26 finals, 4:24.24 prelims) and 20th in the 50 free (21.31 finals, 21.41 prelims) … highest finish cane in the 200 free, where he took fourth place (1:38.34 finals, 1:41.68 prelims) … finished 17th with the 200 medley relay (25.50 split) and in the 200 breast (2:04.14 finals, 2:07.12 prelims), capping the meet in ninth with the 400 free relay (45.56 split) … began spring semester at Virginia, where he won the 200 breast (2:03.11), clocked in fifth in the 200 free (1:41.94), sixth in the 100 breast (58.11) and eighth in the 500 free (4:45.27) … swam to third place with 400 free relay (45.82 split) … at home against Northwestern, again took home first place in 200 breast (2:04.59), adding a win in the 400 free relay (45.38 split) … touched the wall second in the 200 free (1:40.14) … in Shamrock Invitational meet, 200 free relay team finished eighth (20.65 split) while 800 free relay finished third (1:43.74 leadoff split) and 400 free relay, sixth (45.86 split) … individually, placed sixth in the 200 breast (2:04.44) and 12th in the 500 free (4:41.07), winning the 200 free with a 1:40.00 mark … swam to seventh in the prelims of the 100 breast (54.96) at the Ohio State Last chance meet, finishing sixth overall (54.83) … earned the team’s Weight Room Warrior Award and a monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Continued to be a strong performer for the Irish in his second year of competition … swam in the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay at the NCAA Championships, logging splits of 25.29 in the medley relay and 1:36.96 in the 800 free … relay teams finished 24th and 16th respectively … began the season at home against Purdue, taking second in the 200 free (1:40.50) and fourth in the 100 free (47.20) before swimming the second leg of the 400 free relay (A-team), finishing second (46.23 split, 3:04.74) … versus Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, swam with the C-team lineup in the 200 free relay (20.99 split), touching the wall fifth (1:24.47) … also swam on the A-team in the 800 free relay, clocking a 1:40.60 split and finishing second (6:44.60) … touched the wall third in the 200 free (1:41.70) and helped the B-team in the 400 free relay to fourth place (46.93 split, 3:07.23) … at Michigan State, came in fourth in the 200 free (1:44.25) and 500 free (4:42.24) … swam with the B-team in the 400 free relay, finishing third (46.23 split, 3:06.37) … at Hawkeye Invitational, finished 21st in the 500 free (4:34.39) after qualifying for the evening C-final with his 4:34.72 prelim time … took ninth in the 200 free (1:37.98) after touching in at 1:39.27 in the morning … swam lead leg of the 800 free relay (A-team), placing second (1:38.93 split, 6:34.27) … touched the wall eighth in the 1650 free (15:43.15) … finished 13th in 100 free (45.94), swimming the prelims in 45.79 … swam second leg on the B-team in the 400 free relay, clocking a 46.08 split and finishing fourth (3:02.91) … against Michigan and Northwestern, came in seventh in 200 free (1:41.27) and ninth in the 100 free (48.18) … B-team of the 400 free relay came in fourth (47.78 split, 3:12.13) … at Wisconsin, clocked a 1:44.85 showing in the 200 free … swam with B-team of 200 free relay, touching the wall in 1:27.37 (22.31 split) … in Shamrock Invitational, finished 19th in 500 free with a time of 4:46.13 … anchored C-team in 400 medley relay to seventh place (45.89 split, 3:26.21) … took eighth in the 200 free (1:43.72) and touched the wall in 16:36.55 in the 1650 free … swam second on the 800 free relay A-team, clocking a 1:44.60 split … finished the 100 free in 46.78 …versus Cleveland State, came in fourth in the 100 breast (59.48) and won the 200 breast (2:08.36) … swam third on the A-team of the 200 free relay (20.85 split) that came in first (1:23.90) … at ACC Championship, swam lead leg of the 800 free relay, clocking a 1:35.04 split and breaking the school record in the event (6:21.51), qualifying for NCAA Championship in the process … finished 18th in the 500 free (4:23.37) after clocking a 4:26.07 prelim time … swam third on the 200 free relay team, finishing ninth (20.16 split, 1:19.25) … touched the wall in ninth place in the 200 free with a time of 1:36.24 (1:36.54 prelims) … swam the 1650 free in 15:40.09 … took seventh with the 400 free relay team (44.26 split, 2:56.03) … swam at NCAA last chance meet to try and qualify in 100 free, touching the wall in 47.53 … earned a monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14): Saw extensive action during first season competing for Notre Dame … placed 12th in the 200 free at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships (1:36.86) … earned a pair of top-five finishes at the Hawkeye Invitational, placing third in the 200 freestyle (1:37.91) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (4:26.22) … cracked the top-10 in two events at the Shamrock Invitational, swimming to 10th place finishes in both the 200 free (1:43.22) and 100 free (46.86) … earned a monogram.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Was a member of a of Iowa team state champions while attending Muscatine High School … finished as the state champion in the 200 and 500 free during junior year … did not compete at the high school level as a senior after moving to Texas … trained with Tim O’Brien and the Nitro Swimming club team in Austin … competed at the 2013 USA Swimming Junior National Championships and the NCSA Junior National Championships … son of Eric and Joni Jackson … has two younger brothers, Tate and Trey … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business, majoring in marketing and design with a concentration in industrial design.
