AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16): Had strong start to collegiate career, swimming in every meet for the Irish … began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, winning the 300 fly relay (51.32 split) and taking sixth with the 200 medley relay (23.17 split) and exhibitioning in the 200 free relay (21.42 split) … versus Michigan State, earned three, fourth-place finishes in the 400 medley relay (50.15 split), 200 fly (1:55.95) and 200 free relay (21.44 split) … at Virginia Tech, touched the wall fifth in the 100 fly (50.69), seventh with the 400 medley relay (50.23 split) and eighth in the 200 fly (1:56.25) … at Purdue Invitational, helped 200 free relay team to 10th (21.08 split) and swam on 400 medley relay (49.70 split) and 200 medley relay (22.89 split) teams that finished 16th and 17th respectively … individually, touched the wall 17th in the 100 fly (49.51 finals, 50.58 prelims), 18th in the 200 fly (1:52.45 finals, 2:00.15 prelims) and 25th in the 50 free (21.38 finals, 21.60 prelims) … at Virginia, highest finish came with third-place 200 free relay (21.49 split) … exhibitioned in 100 fly (50.66) and 200 fly (1:58.18) and helped 400 medley relay (52.94 split) and 200 medley relay (22.46 split) to fifth and sixth place … against Northwestern, raced to fourth place with 400 free relay (46.95 split) and earned sixth place in 100 fly (50.49) … clocked in at 1:58.80 in 200 fly … at Shamrock Invitational, swam on eighth-place 200 free relay lineup (21.02 split) and finished in 13th twice (200 medley relay, 22.42 split, 100 fly, 50.45) … touched the wall in 1:55.58 in 200 fly and 21.48 in 50 free … finished season at the Michigan First Chance meet, claiming fifth in the 100 fly (49.02), sixth in the 200 fly (1:49.72) and eighth in the 50 free (21.19), time-trialing to 1:40.93 in the 200 free.
PREP & PERSONAL: Won Metropolitan Junior Olympic High Point Competition in 13-14 age group as a freshman … is an All-American in the 100 fly … ranked in top 20 in the nation as a sophomore in the event … named Journal News Swimmer of the Year as both a sophomore and a junior … qualified for Winter Nationals in junior season in 100 fly … swam with New Rochelle YMCA Sailfish club from 2005-10, before switching to Badger Swim Club in 2010 … Badger Swim Club has produced five Olympians and won New York Senior Metropolitan Championships for the last 20-plus years … earned third place as a sophomore and came in second in his junior and senior campaigns at New York State Championships in 100 fly … as a senior, won the Con-Edison Scholar Athlete of the the week award … twice named an AP Scholar … biggest athletic thrill to date was breaking the 50-second mark in 100 fly when he posted a 49.36 time as a junior and set a New York Section 1 record in the process … graduated from New Rochelle High School in June 2015 … youngest child of Daryl and Harvelle Stewart … has one brother … played saxophone in prep school band … in spare time, volunteers in community revitalization and redevelopment efforts around New Rochelle … for the past two years, has taught young children how to swim … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business at the University.
