AS A SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Distinguished himself as a sprint freestyler for the Irish … swam personal best in 50 free at Shamrock Invitational, touching the wall in 20.99 as a member of 200 free relay … also set career bests in the 100 free (45.07) and 200 free (1:38.15) … placed fifth in 200 free (1:39.22) at Hawkeye Invitational after clocking a 1:38.15 in prelim race … second in 200 free (1:41.23) in tri-meet with Michigan State and Virginia … came in third against Wisconsin in 200 free (1:41.37) … finished 500 free in 4:37.95 at Hawkeye Invitational, good for 16th place … improved to second in 500 free against Michigan State and Virginia with 4:40.41 mark … at Shamrock Invitational, came in first in 100 free (45.07), second in 200 free 1:38.80) and fourth in 50 (21.00) and 500 free (4:33.31) … ended the year at Cleveland State meet, finishing second in 100 free (46.09) and first in solo outing in 100 fly (50.61).
AS A FRESHMAN (2012-13): Primarily swam freestyle events … took home a pair of sixth-place finishes from the Northwestern Invitational including the 200 free (1:41.29) and the 400 free relay (3:05.24) … part of a relay team that finished fifth in the 800 free relay (6:53.91) at the same meet … was a part of three relay teams that had three fourth-place finishes at the Shamrock Invitational, including the 400 free relay (3:08.60), the 200 free relay (1:26.27), and the 800 free relay (7:02.49) … in dual meet action, brought home the gold against Cleveland State in the 200 free (1:40.29), and was runner-up on the 200 free relay (1:27.73) team … at the Hawkeye Invitational, helped lead the 800 free relay squad to a runner-up finish … also saw dual action meet against Louisville and Pittsburgh, bringing home silver against Pittsburgh in the 400 free relay (3:07.19) … recipient of the Meghan Beeler and Colleen Hipp Award, given to the outstanding freshman who best exemplifies vitality, competitiveness and love for Notre Dame … BIG EAST Academic All-Star … monogram winner.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Won four letters swimming for Palos Verdes High School … three-time all-conference selection … earned All-America honors as a senior … swam with the La Mirada Armada club team … finalist at the 2011 NCSA Junior Nationals and the USA Junior Nationals … also competed at the 2011 Itoman Open International Friendships Meet, the 2011 Bay League Conference Finals and the 2012 New Zealand Open Olympic Trials … son of Kevin and Karen Hudspith … has one sister, Caitlin … graduated from the College of Arts and Letters with a degree in Political Science.
