AS A JUNIOR: Teamed with his brother, Kevin, as the top pole vaulters for the Irish in 2009 … picked up a pole vault win in the first indoor event of the season, clearing 4.95m at the Blue and Gold Invitational … came in fourth in pole vault at the Indiana Opener with a vault of 4.90m … placed second in pole vault to his brother Kevin at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener (4.65m) … followed that up by edging out his brother in pole vault with a vault of 5.10m at the Notre Dame Invitational … tied for second with his brother in the pole vault at the Indiana Invitational, clearing 5.27m … placed third in pole vault at the Meyo Invitational (5.22m) … won pole vault at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships by clearing 5.35m … came in fifth at the Alex Wilson Invitational in pole vault … placed fourth in pole vault at the first outdoor meet of the season, clearing 5.05m at the Arizona State Invitational … won pole vault at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, with a vault of 5.30m … won his second BIG EAST title of the year, taking the pole vault crown at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships with a vault of 5.25m … placed second behind his brother, Kevin, at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5.05m) … placed fifth in pole vault at the NCAA Mideast Regional, vaulting 5.16m.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Concentrated on the pole vault during both the indoor and outdoor seasons … opened the indoor season with a vault of 4.75m (15-7) to win the Blue and Gold Invitational … finished in a tie for fourth at the Notre Dame Invitational with a vault of 4.65m (15-3) … cleared a height of 4.65m (15-3) to finish second at the Notre Dame Invitational … finished third with a vault of 4.90m (16-0) at the Indiana Relays … also finished third at the Meyo Invitational with a vault of 5.00m (16-4 3/4) … cleared 4.95m (16-2 3/4) to earn his first BIG EAST title and second all-conference honor … opened the outdoor season with a sixth-place showing at the Arizona State Invitational after a 5.05m (16-6 3/4) effort … cleared the same height at the Mike Poehlein Invitational to finish in a tie for first … won the Spartan Invitational with a vault of 4.90m (16-0 3/4) … finished fifth at the Mt. AS A FRESHMAN: Emerged from both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons with the team[apos]s top marks in the pole vault despite competing amongst several talented teammates … first significant breakthrough was a 4.55m (14-11) effort at the Meyo Invitational … busted out a huge career and personal best at the indoor BIG EAST Championship, vaulting 4.80m (15-9) to take second and earn all-conference laurels … also jumped 4.63m (15-2 1/4) at the Alex Wilson Invitational … went 4.60m (15-1) for eighth place at the Mike Poehlein Invitational … matched that height to tie teammate Dave Viken for second place at the Spartan Invitational … placed second at the Central Collegiate Championships with a vault of 4.75m (15-7) … soared to a season- and career-best vault at the Hillsdale Gina Relays, taking sixth place with a 4.85m (15-11) mark … scored points at the BIG EAST outdoor meet, tying for fifth place with a 4.65m (15-3) vault … closed his season with a 4.75m effort at the Georgia Tech Invitational which tied him for third.
