Drake Stimson 2016-17 Track and Field Roster

AWARDS/ACCOLADES:

• 2016 Second Team All-ACC (outdoor 400-meter hurdles).
• 2017 Second Team All-ACC (indoor Distance Medley Relay)

AS A JUNIOR:

• Was a member of the top five finishing Irish 4x400m relay teams in 2017.
• The second leg of the 2017 team leading DMR, recording a best time of 9:36.15 at the ACC Indoor Championships.

AS A SOPHOMORE:

• Placed third in the high jump at the Blue & Gold Invitational (1.90m).
• Helped the 4x400m relay win the Notre Dame Invitational (3:13.41).
• Finished fourth (3:13.64) in the 4x400m relay (Smith, O’Connell, Groesch) at the ACC Indoor Championships.
• Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Finished fourth in the high jump (1.87m) and fifth in the long jump (6.08m) at the Blue & Gold Invitational to start the year.
• Placed fifth in the long jump (6.13m) at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational.
• Placed fifth in the heptathlon at the Spire DI Invitational (4254 points), which included a first place showing in the 1000m portion (2:44.69).

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated in the spring of 2014 from Indian Hill High School (Cincinnati, Ohio).
• Achieved a personal best of 6’6″ in the high jump as a senior.
• Broke the school record for the high jump and the 4x400m relay in the same day.
• Earned all-conference honors all four years of high school.
• Also lettered in soccer and basketball.
• Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Drake and Sarah Stimson.
• Full name is Drake David Stimson Jr.
• Has two younger brothers and two younger sisters.
• Enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
