AS A SENIOR: Played in1 2 games, making three starts β¦ scored four goals and added an assist for five points β¦ two ground balls, 16 draw controls and two caused turnovers on the year β¦ tied her career high with six draw controls while scoring a goal and adding an assist in the win over No. 13 Ohio State β¦ scored a goal, controlled three draws, got a ground ball and caused a turnover against Detroit β¦ scored twice against No. 5 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome β¦ also had two draw controls against the Orange β¦ scooped up a ground ball and caused a turnover against Marquette on Senior Day β¦ selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll β¦ named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star β¦ earned a monogram.
AS A JUNIOR: Competed in 14 games, including one start against Yale β¦ scored eight goals and dished out two assists on year β¦ tied team season-high with six draw controls in season-opening win over No. 6 Stanford β¦ had seven games with two or more draw controls β¦ collected 22 draw controls on the year, good for fifth on the team β¦ scored two goals in wins over Stanford (17-14) and Louisville (13-11) β¦ scored one goal in wins over Yale (15-9), No. 16 Cornell (17-13), Rutgers (13-12) and Cincinnati (22-2) β¦ assists came in wins against Villanova (18-5) and Cincinnati β¦ also scooped up two ground balls in win over the Bearcats β¦ selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll β¦ named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star β¦ earned a monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Saw action in three games during sophomore season β¦ earned reserve time in games against California, Stanford and Cincinnati β¦ took two shots and scored two goals β¦ had five ground balls β¦ scored a goal and had two ground balls in victories over the Golden Bears (20-6) and Bearcats (17-6) β¦ was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star β¦ earned a monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in two games versus Villanova (4/9) and Cincinnati (4/17) β¦ had a shot on goal and one ground ball against the Wildcats β¦ selected to the BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team β¦ named to the Dean[apos]s List both semesters.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Two-sport athlete at Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colo. β¦ won six letters β three in lacrosse and three in field hockey during her high school career β¦ led Cherry Creek to three state championships in lacrosse (2006, 2007, 2008) and one in field hockey (2007) β¦ selected most valuable player of `07 state championship field hockey game and `08 state lacrosse title game β¦ served as team captain of lacrosse team in 2009 β¦ team most valuable player twice (2008, 2009) in lacrosse and once in field hockey (2007) β¦ three-time all-Centennial Conference choice in lacrosse and once in field hockey β¦ all-state selection twice in lacrosse and once in field hockey β¦ led Cherry Creek in scoring in 2008 (71g, 42a, 113 pts.) and 2009 (88g, 55a, 143 pts.) β¦ set a school record with seven goals in the state championship game β¦ selected as the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News Colorado Player of the Year in 2008 β¦ selected as the top high school player by Sportswomen of Colorado β¦ two-time U.S. Lacrosse first team All-American (2008, 2009) β¦ also took U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American honors as a junior and senior β¦ full name is McKenzie Clare Brown β¦ daughter of Tom and Jane Brown β¦ has one sister, Taylor β¦ born in Denver, Colo. β¦ enrolled in the College of Science, majoring in pre-professional studies.
