Athletic midfielder with solid on-ball skills … missed last season recovering from knee surgery, but has had the chance to go through team[apos]s spring and summer training programs … adds depth to talented Irish midfield corps.
AS A FRESHMAN: Did not play while rehabilitating from an ACL injury suffered during her senior year of high school.
ODP/CLUB HIGHLIGHTS: An ODP state team member from 2005-07 … played her club soccer with the Elkhorn Inferno … helped the Inferno to the Nebraska state championship in 2006 … team also turned in runner-up performances in 2007 and 2008 … earned a championship travelling overseas with the Inferno as they won the International Tourney in Barcelona, Spain.
PREP & PERSONAL: A three-time all-state selection (2007-09) and a four-time all-conference honoree (2006-09) at Elkhorn High … finished her career with 37 goals and 41 assists for 115 points … netted five goals and added five assists for 15 points in just 10 games as a senior (season cut short due to ACL injury) … earned first team all-state honors while captaining the team as a senior … earned her third consecutive second team super-state honor (2009-07)… helped the team to a second straight state championship title as a junior in 2008 … had 10 goals and 14 assists in that title-winning campaign … helped the team to the 2007 state championship … had nine goals and 14 assists as a sophomore … notched 13 goals and eight assists on her way to being named the team[apos]s Newcomer of the Year as a freshman … team made a run to the state semifinals that year … a four-year honor roll student as well as an academic excellence award winner in all four of her years at Elkhorn … an academic all-state selection in 2008 and 2009 … full name is Elizabeth McNeil … daughter of Tom and Tami McNeil … has one sibling, twin brother Brian … plans to study political science at Notre Dame.
