Four-year monogram winner … crafty and athletic playmaker who was versatile enough to play either midfield position or on the front line (and even as an outside back during her senior season) … technically-sound player with solid possession skills … rebounded from injury-plagued freshman year with steady improvement during remainder of her career … worked her way into the regular rotation for Irish, including as a spot starter.
AS A SENIOR: Played in 17 matches, starting 10 times (all during ACC play), primarily as an outside back … collected two assists … created Emily Geyer[apos]s first career goal with 55 seconds left in home win over Detroit (4-0) … set up Cari Roccaro[apos]s goal 49 seconds into the second half of ACC home victory over Pittsburgh (3-0) … was slowed during second half of season by injuries.
AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in 23 matches, earning career-high 13 starts … posted personal bests with three goals (two of which were match-winners), three assists, nine points, 32 shots and 13 shots on goal … tied for fourth on team in assists … one of four Irish players with multiple match-winning goals in 2012 … picked up secondary assist on Elizabeth Tucker[apos]s second goal of night at Tulsa (2-0) … opened season goalscoring account with first marker of match in 35th minute against East Carolina (5-0); also registered career-high seven shots in victory … had career-best three points (goal/assist) in win over Cincinnati (7-0) … had secondary assist on Anna Maria Gilbertson[apos]s goal at Villanova (1-0) just 6:09 into the match (quickest of season for Irish) … made first start in NCAA Championship play for third-round match at #8 Florida (2-0), and confirmed coaches[apos] confidence, scoring on short-range diving header (off Brittany Von Rueden[apos]s corner kick) in 20th minute … also tied career high with two shots on goal in win at Florida, the fourth time in 2012 she duplicated that mark.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in all 21 matches, starting six times … tallied one goal and three assists … took 28 shots (seven on goal) … collected three shots in solid reserve effort against #21 Duke (1-3) … followed that up with first collegiate goal, scoring in 30th minute of win over Tulsa (7-1) at Notre Dame adidas Invitational … also had career highs of six shots and two shots on goal against Tulsa … earned first career start in tournament finale against Indiana (4-1) and assisted on Melissa Henderson[apos]s third goal … remained in lineup for next five matches against #2 Stanford (1-2), #17 Santa Clara (1-1), Louisville (0-1), Cincinnati (4-1) and South Florida (1-1) … earned assist on Lauren Bohaboy[apos]s 28th-minute goal at USF that looked to the match-winner until late equalizer resulted in draw … also had four shots at USF … set up Henderson for 63rd-minute goal at #14 Marquette (2-3, ot), the first of two equalizer Notre Dame scored in regulation … became solid member of reserve unit for Irish during second half of season … had two shots in BIG EAST semifinal against Louisville (1-2) … came within inches of giving Irish lead in NCAA first-round match at #16 Illinois, but blast in 22nd minute was pushed just off target by Illini goalkeeper.
AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in nine matches (89 minutes played) during Notre Dame[apos]s third national championship season … credited with one shot, which she took in her NCAA tournament debut, a second-round win over #22 USC (4-0) … missed first seven matches of season with injury … made college debut at Northwestern (2-1) … played season-high 33 minutes in next match against Cincinnati (4-0).
NATIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS: Regular in U.S. Soccer youth national team system for several years … spent time as part of U-15, U-17 and U-18 player pools … also attended the 2006 U-14 National Team Identification Camp.
ODP/CLUB HIGHLIGHTS: Played ODP soccer with the South Texas State team from 2006-10 … played at international events in Costa Rica in 2007 and 2009 … played in the 2007-08 adidas Elite Soccer Program (ESP) invitational camp … played club soccer with Challenge Soccer Club … led Challenge SC to the 2009-10 Region III Premier League West championship … helped Challenge SC to USYSA Region III tournament qualification for four consecutive years from 2007-10, making it to the Region III finals in 2008 and semifinals in 2010 (lost on 89th-minute goal to Sting Dallas) … won state championships with Challenge SC in 2007 and 2009 … team also won the Eclipse Challenge Cup in 2007 … ranked 98th in the February 2010 Top Drawer Soccer club soccer player ratings.
PREP & PERSONAL: Graduated from Second Baptist School, where she played soccer for head coach Geoff Brooks … led team to a first-place district finish as a freshman … was a TAPPS first-team all-district and an all-state honorable mention selection as a freshman … followed with TAPPS first-team all-district and SBS Offensive Player of the Year, as well as second-team all-state honors as a sophomore … was also an all-district and state TAPPS tournament qualifier in cross country at Second Baptist … a four-year honor roll student … honored as a Gold Award winner for Latin I, II and III … daughter of Lee Ann and Kent Twining … youngest of three children … graduated in May 2014 from Notre Dame[apos]s College of Arts and Letters with her bachelor[apos]s degree in anthropology.
