Alan Wasielewski began his career at the University of Notre Dame as a Publicity Assistant in the Sports Information Office at the start of the 2000-01 school year. Early in his career he worked with the softball, volleyball, men’s soccer, swimming and diving, track and field and cross country teams before also serving as one of two main contacts for the football team in 2005.

Wasielewski then moved into video production for the 2006-07 season, becoming the first producer for a group of multimedia creators who would eventually grow into Fighting Irish Media. He played a key role in development of both live broadcasts and feature content produced by the athletic department from 2006 through 2015 and in 2013, Fighting Irish (Digital) Media was the recipient of the inaugural Sports Video Group (SVG)/National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Technology Leadership Award.

The 2015 season saw Wasielewski shift back to an athletic communications role, taking over as the main contact for the Notre Dame men’s basketball team in the midst of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight.

In 2022, Wasielewski was named Assistant Athletic Director and the Athletic Communications Team Lead and currently works with the Irish football and rowing teams while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the athletic communications office.

Wasielewski is a 2000 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and served in the United States Navy from 1992-96 as a Cryptologic Technician (Collection). Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, he and his wife Brigette with their two sons, Cole and Brian.
