SOUTH BEND, Ind. – This summer our student-athletes were hard at work off the field gaining life experiences in their desired fields. Here’s Ali McHugh’s story:
Where did you spend your summer?
I spent my summer at AlphaSights in New York City.
What was your position at the company?
I served as Client Service Associate there.
What were some of the biggest things you learned from your internship?
Some of the biggest things I learned during my time there were communication in a professional manner, organization, time management, and competitiveness in a professional environment.
How did you find this internship?
Through the lacrosse network. A few friends from high school work there.
What were some challenges you faced at your internship?
Some challenges included the overwhelming amount of work to finish and/or complete in a limited amount of time and learning how to effectively and efficiently prioritize my work and time.
Biggest takeaway from the internship you can relate to in lacrosse?
Being competitive and going after what you want is really important to succeed as well as working with your team members to achieve your goals.
Do you plan to work for said company following graduation?
Yes!
Other fun summer adventures you want to include?
I went to Greece with my team, Ireland with my class, and spent some quality time with friends and family in Avalon, NJ.
