This summer, I am working at Sky Ranch Christian Camps in east Texas as a Healthcare Assistant. I work alongside various health professionals ranging from MDs, PAs, RNs, and paramedics. We support campers in their faith and overall health by tending to their physical wounds/injuries, while feeding them spiritually. Being a science pre-professional studies major, this job has given me good insight as to what it looks like to work in the medical field with children. It is teaching me how to communicate clearly with the youth, how to be patient and a good listener, but, ultimately, how I can be the hands and feet of Jesus. I believe this job is helping me propel forward by gaining experience in the healthcare field, while also getting to walk faithfully alongside the youth and other college students from around the country. While it is amazing to be able to get a glimpse of medicine, the more rewarding part of my job is being in community with other believers who challenge me to grow in my own walk with God. – Emily Tran
